Villios won race 1 and now take over the championship lead. Bruni/Leo were 2nd and the Corvette of Ramos/Giammaria was 3rd.
In GTS AutorLando had a 1,2 with Beretta/puglisi finishing ahead of Hamilton/Mapelli. Race 2 will start at 2pm. The Porsches of Imsa, Drivex and Manthey are suffering with bad rear tyre wear and are down a little on the straight line speed because of the 2012 aero. |

The RSR got a new Aero Kit for this race. And they are still slower?

Here is a report from Daily Sportscar on the 2 races this weekend.
http://www.dailysportscar.com/viewAr...445B1D13E2D6E4 Villios has lost the race 1 win (pending appeal decision) because an engineer downloaded the data from the car whilst it was in parc ferme. Both Autorlando cars were DQ from race 1 losing the team a 1,2 finish because they were running the incorrect exhaust shields. In race 2 the Super GT winners Villorba were given a 30 second post race penalty (pending appeal decision) for contact with the Corvette of Ramos. |

I didn't see race 1, but the decision for the second race is definitely correct; Montermini had no right to go for it where he did.

Great race today, the pit stop rules made for an entertaining finish. Also the formula for balancing GT1, GT2, and GT3 cars looks to be working. The next race should be good.

IIRC I saw some pics of that car some years ago, possibly at its unveiling. I think it was meant for the pre 2010 GT1 category, but was too late for the party. At the time there were several other GT1 projects that were basically stillborn, like the Sunred (built concept) and Hispano Suiza (don´t think it ever left the drawing board, although a 1:18 diecast exists) and Pagani Zonda (tested at Monza, and raced at Vallelunga if I´m not mistaken), so I didn´t think much of it.

Looks like it's unfinished. Anyone see that besides me? Looks like a test mule from some auto company.

http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...light=ballabio http://www.supercars.net/cars/4155.html Interesting to see Fulvio Ballabio's name turning up again- for anyone who doesn't remember him, regular F2 and F3000 backmarker in the 80's, did quite a bit of Group C- (C2 Albas and and an Obermaier-run 956 come to mind), and occasional car constructor- a dreadful attempt at an F3000 in the 80's (never raced IIRC) and a couple of attempts at the supercar market- probably best known for the MCA Centenaire, about half a dozen built over a few years in the early 90's, and which gave rise to the MIG M100 which DNQ'd at Le Mans in 93... http://www.racingsportscars.com/phot...-06-20-099.jpg E-I's report says it finished 8th in the Monza 4-hours earlier in the year, so it's already doing a lot better than previous Ballabio creations have done.... |

Please forgive me mz cynicism, but I'll wait until this car turns reliable and competitive lap times before I get excited - we've seen lots and lots of projects like this over the years and for every one that comes through like the P4/5 there are dozens that don't. |

I swear that car looks just like the Seat Cupra GT from a few years ago? (Obviously minus the Seat Grille and badging.)

more than 45 cars grid expected for next round in Barcelona !
cit: Final call for the titles in Barcelona! Last round to decide all titles once again Bruni-Leo and Holzer-Tandy separated by only 7 points on top of the overall standings, in typical Ferrari-Porsche duel Malucelli-Barba and Montermini-López also with mathematical chances Zampieri-Dalle Stelle, Hamilton-Mapelli and Bizzarri fight for GTS crown Over 45 cars expected Martin-Baguette, Camathias and Engel among top names also present The moment of truth has arrived! The International GT Open heads to Barcelona for the final and decisive round of the 2012 season, which will have to deliver the names of the 2012 Champions, in a grand-finale closer than ever! But the traditional automn event in Catalonia is also synonimous of a big GT racing event, with a huge entry. This year will not be an exception, with over 45 cars already confirmed, thanks to many European teams joining the party and to the presence of the participants to the Iber GT Championship (which will race jointly with the GT Open on Saturday’s Race 1). The final entry list will be published Tuesday at the latest and main contain some last minutes additions. The Circuit de Catalunya is ready for another Ferrari-Porsche duel for the overall title, with the AF Corse Ferrari of Gimmi Bruni-Federico Leo and the Manthey Racing Porsche of Marco Holzer-Nick Tandy to e Ferrari as the main title bidders. |

45 cars!? Thats very impressive! Ive got a feel Bruni - Leo will win the title, seems to me Barcelona will suit the Ferrari better because of their lack of tyre wear compared to the Porsche.

God impressive! 48 Cars for the GT Open finale!!
Wendlinger-Baumann and Rangoni-Garofano among the 48 entrants 30.10.2012 No exception to the tradition: the final round of the International GT Open will attract the best entry list of the season, as always, with many cars joining regular participants for the closing event. The entry list published today by GT Sport contains no less than 48 cars. With respect to what announced Friday, in the first Preview, some heavy names have been added to the list. Seyffarth Motorsport will be present with two Mercedes SLS AMG in the hands of Jan Seyffarth-Kenneth Heyer, who already took two GTS wins at the Nürburgring, and Italian pair Luca Rangoni-Alessandro Garofano, who shone in the series last year. Schubert Motorsport, on their side, will entrust their two BMW Z4 to Swedish pair Lars Stugemo-Daniel Roos, already seen in Budapest, and to a top pair composed of former F.1 star Karl Wendlinger and Dominik Baumann. French GT stars Antoine Beltoise-Nicolas Armindo will drive the top of the three Porsches 911R of PRO GT Alméras, and Kurdish-Spanish driver Isaac Tutumlu will be along Miguel Ángel De Castro on the 2012 Porsche 911 RSR of Drivex. |

Will be interesting to see what happens with the factory supported Porsches next year, with Weissach basically having stopped the 997 program.

Manthey should do wec as stand alone porsche so I supposed F-proton will switch to GT Open maybe with Roda who normally was racing in superGT there. Imsa and Drivex should continue with the 2012 spec

Wow
![]() Obviously the car at Barcelona is not repairable so will they borrow a replacement or just withdraw the entry? ![]() ![]() The Monza crash ^^ Will be interesting to see how quick the GPR car is and how competitive Mtech are considering Griffin was pleased with the testing they did today. AF Corse are running 6 cars this weekend and Kessel 5. Incredible organisational skills! Last edited by tux; 1 Nov 2012 at 22:49. |
