No idea I'm afraid.

Something I was pondering during the weekend. Once upon a time there would be a good smattering of MGB's throughout the races. I think I only saw one this year. When one considers that it is still the basic entry level vehicle for these types of event, it was a bit surprising that there weren't more out playing.

Loads of Elites though.

Think there were 3 or more Bs in Masters race- one quick enough to pull away from the Paul/Bourne Grantura down Hanger Straight! Raised a few eyebrows....

I believe it span early on and got caught by another car and retired on the spot.
Watched it on a big screen, Abbey or Copse ?

There were a few in the Saturday evening race - Pre-66 Masters race.

Edit: Just read Mike's post, should have read that first.

Thanks John - it's just a nice spot to take photos from if there's a decent sunset, with the fairground in the background.

Apart from being told that I can not take a full race prepared Semi Lightweight E Type into the Wing pits and then made to drive around the perimeter road in a borrowed van full of spares and wheels . Then a little kid who could be my grandson that he was going to make me push the scooter as I did not have a crash hat on . Well it was all Brilliant , I think I posted some years ago that the classic should be a great show with all the classic cars filling up the space around the paddock . Guess someone must of read my post way back then . Well done Goose and all involved . Just don't invite that Bob Geldof back please .

Yup, some cracking shots from all! Can anyone enlighten me why in Pre 63 the Breadvan made a short early pitstop- Looked like he came in too early? At least it made the race more entertaining as it fought back up the order.......

Another pic, this one from Peter Olley, also one of the organisers of the annual Stoke Row Classic Car tour every year. Sums up Ford Escorts......

Reading Iain's post regarding access to paddocks, it never ceases to make me smile when we use Tex, my RS1600 road car, as paddock transport. (BTW the one in the auction sold for £58k...) Although we did have support passes, we got right into the new wing garages on Saturday without problem, where the little car continued to be inspected and photographed by folk walking through! Whilst waiting for queuing race cars to move so we could access the garage, a friend joked 'you can't park that there'. Wrong! You can park that car anywhere.......

According to the commentary, driver error thinking the pit window had opened...as you say made a race if it!! That's what happens though when you get the driver trying to think....

Thanks Will. I was on the pitwall watching a certain Porsche when the Ferrari came in, stopped and drove straight out again. The SC was on track so the errant van had to rejoin at the back......

Highlight for me in that race Saturday evening . Can't remember what they called it this year . Anyway out chap in E Type went up the inside of our fellow Gilbern in pit lane . Slightly annoyed Gilbert Dad who came down pit lane and gave our man some verbal . Must get our own back at 6 Hour . Very funny . Interesting how people react in racing mode .

I managed a quick (and poor quality!) photograph during that race of someone spinning off at Luffield. Not sure who it was, but thought this was a sneaky moment to share!

Excellent pic of my old MGB. No 123.

Hopefully we'll be there with the new car next year.

The fastest MGB at Silverstone Classic was 8 secs a lap slower than the fastest MGB at MG Live last month. Must have been very slow in the corners if it was fast on the straight!

I've no idea what the spec of the B was at MG Live, so can't comment! What I do know is that the Grantura in the race at Sillystone is fast (I've driven it) and was being raced by a quick driver!

In answer to Peter M's question couple of pages ago- the RS2000 is now sold. Should be out in future MRL HTCC races.....
