Cinghio44 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Azcona again superb in race two! Another win another good tyre gamble. And Coronel too, good 2nd place again.

French John Filippi get a third place that enable him to win the Benelux Trophy. Good for Filippi to have shown good competitiveness throughout the Championship with the Target Hyundai. Actually he is the best Hyundai driver.

Lloyd losed more points with a contact and an hard crash with the argentinian Sapag. What a shame for Dan!

Now surprise surprise the newcomer Mike Halder Is leading the Championship with 242 points from Bennani 216, Filippi 207, Baert 201 and Lloyd 194.

Really enjoyed the races in Spa, great action and good overtakes!

Only one round left now!

Yes, It only includes some rounds of the TCR Europe. I think It was included to attract some belgium drivers that competed in the old Benelux series...

Interesting. I checked their site, and their profiles on Facebook and Instagram, there is no info if that championship is still alive.

Very strange, they issued the calendar in the early 2020... but as you said it seems it is disappeared. And also Filippi from his social didn't report any win about this trophy. Maybe it's been canned after the covid strikes and then cancelled... don't know exactly

So why are drivers being awarded the trophy then?

Based on the standings I was thinking It was awarded to Filippi (best French, Belgian, Dutch... driver) but clearly no one wrote about this Trophy win, even the Facebook Page of Hyundai Customer Racing!

https://www.autosport.be/news/vijf-m...ophy-2020.html

Back then, It seems It was confirmed

Excellent racing at Spa. Good cars + good circuit = good racing.

I can't believe how badly Lloyd has choked. He was leading by miles and is now overa race's worth of points behind.

He nearly lost the UK championship the same way.

Making silly mistakes instead of banking points, being over aggressive and attracting penalties.

The incident with Sapag was just silly too, a total waste of a potential top 5 racing too hard against a series newcomer...

So 1 hour ago on facebook the Comtoyou Team wrote that Nicolas Baert has won the TCR Benelux title.

4 rounds were contested for the TCR Benelux: Zolder, Monza, Barcelona, Spa. So the Championship as I thought wasn't dead... But it's very strange that no one talks about this Trophy apart the winners that revindicated the win

Because nobody - except Baert - cares about this title.

Bennani is champion, without a single race win. Very nice.
Also that Audi is doing much better without Audi Sport support.
Audi should develop new A3 for next season and just give it to Comtoyou

Quite a bizarre finale. Azcona made it 3 out of 3 but was too busy driving side by side with Julien Briche in the final race, which I won't complain about! Bennani vs Filippi for the title struck me as odd since they haven't been at the very front across the season. I suppose those who have been have been hopelessly inconsistent. Unfortunate for Mike Halder but I can't help but think that his silly clash with Homola at Monza has cost him dear.

A season without any clear dominator. Lloyd seemed to be well launched toward the title but was inconsistent in the second part of the championship.

So well done to Bennani, he was fast with the Audi! The RS3 TCR has been a lot quicker this year!
