Veteran sports car and CART driver Chris Kniefel has been hired to oversee racing and competition for CART this year.
The 39-year-old Kneifel has a long history in endurance racing as well as Champ Cars. He was a regular in IMSA in the late 1970s and early ‘80s, and competed in Champ Cars from ’82-’84, making 19 starts with a best finish of eighth on three occasions. I think he will make an excellent Steward. He is a racer, knows most of the current CART guys and should have an even hand as he is not affiliated with any of the teams. |
