Le Mans 2008 - Terramos Courage-Mugen

Hi,

Just a quick question i've been wondering for some time now. For me, the Terramos Courage-Mugen from LM 2008 was by far the loudest car there. Obviously it must have passed the 113dB noise test or whatever it is these days. My question is, if this car could pass the test and be so loud, why do the other cars appear quieter? I mean the GV5 S2's seem so much quieter to me than the GV4's did. I know that might be a factor of the reduced rev ceiling but i was just wondering why all the cars aren't as loud as that lovely Mugen V8 was!

Many thanks.

Yeah , brilliantly loud , just like it should be !!!

If it couldnt pass the 113 db , how come it was let race ?

If I had my way , there would be no noise damping at all , EVER !!!

Probably Terada insisted on it being loud - after his past experience in the Mazdas, he can't hear anything now unless its loud......

Ah, that explains a lot! How was it aloud to race if it didn't pass the noise regs then? Definitely should be no silencing of any of the cars, bring back those megaphone pipes on the GT3s and the wonderful fruity sound of those judds! Managed to get to a marshall post on the Mulsanne where they were pulling max revs in 5th, that thing eclipsed every other car in the field. It sounded gorgeous.

Thanks again.
