Go Lowndes! I wish there was some way of knowing which driver actually did the lap that got them there though (for all the teams) just out of curiousity. I can't complain about that, HRT are still there but at least my favourites are there, ingall and lowndes. By the way, where is Ambrose??

Wow, it's good to see Alan Jones back on top. But I thought he was with Dicky?

Serious comment now. The little I saw of Bowe's lap looked very impressive - the car seemed very settled and hooked up.

What's the deal with the Beta car? Do they have four drivers driving? Will "One-lap Wilson" be doing the shootout tomorrow? I hope so.

Such a shame we have lost one of Henry's finest already !
Gardiner is quick on the mountain and I was looking forward to seeing how he'd go this year.Congrats to JB and BJ, I tip my hat to the both of you. This team, unlike the majority has said they are slowly building up to be serious challengers for the championship and with their track record, I truly hope they succeed next year with the BA.So far they have done exactly what they have set out to do and i hope it continues all the way to the top. Love this weekend, spoke to Mt yesterday and could hear the roar of a V8 in the background and damm it if i didn't think, tomorrow I'll go, just for the day!

Correct me if i'm wrong, but don't the Fords usually get pole? And the fastest speed on Conrod?

I'd be interested to see some stats on this.

"Ford veteran John Bowe blew the Bathurst V8 Supercar lap record away today in qualifying for Sunday's Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 at the legendary Mount Panorama circuit.

From the opening moments of today's split qualifying session Bowe had his OzEmail Race Team Falcon AUXR8 among the top three, and sealed the number one spot with a late run to a 2m 08.38secs best.

The 68-year-old's time was almost two seconds under the official V8 Supercar lap record at Bathurst, and more than a second better than last year's qualifying best on the daunting 6.21 kilometre circuit."
