The return of Owy

Despite all the panel bashing that went on at Brands Hatch, there was one BTCC star that managed to keep his car in perfect condition. Paul O'Neill made his return to behind the wheel at a BTCC event. So, OK he was driving the Safety Car but it was a faultless performance. But I am looking forward to seeing him in a Car with a number on it as soon as possible. Good luck with securing a drive Owy.

With Plato already criticising Paul for driving too slowly in the pace car, it'd be great to have them having a good scrap!

Paul wasn't driving the safety car he was in the doctors car. The SC is driven by Roger Bennington who runs the heritage tourers.
It was so great to see him back, he's looking very fit and very cute! He is a breath of fresh air in the paddock always having time for a chat and a laugh. I am keeping all my fingers crossed that we see him back in a full time BTCC drive next season.

Of course you are correct Claire. Paul was driving the 'Doctors' Safety Car. I knew he was driving one of the Audi's but was not 100% sure which one.

Very enthusiastic is Paul.

He'd be a great addition to the 2005 season.

McKay has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Anyone is better than Luke Hines, who should try and earn his place in a team instead of buying it.

Luke has won a race.

And 888/VXR were always clear they needed a driver with a budget in that car.

So, better Luke than no car at all.

Thanks dudes.

Yeah it was a struggle at first. I think I had it as early as snett last year but didn't really take it seriously until I lost about 2 stone on holiday. Think i've got the hang of it now though, best way to beat it is steve redgrave it! Loads of training. I have to be back in 2005 to be honest or it will be too late. I'm trying everything i can to get a drive.

cheers guys

Sorry to pull an old thread back, but Owy is back out racing, which is really good news.

I see from this weeks Motorsport News that raced at Oulton Park last weekend and I have just found out that he is racing in tomorrow's Britcar race at Silverstone in an MG with Fiona Leggate.

I only hope that we see Owy back in the BTCC next year.

Yes, I believe Paul got a 5th place a Oulton Park. I wish I could be at Silverstone to see him in the MG but I am not able to get there. Hopefully Paul will be able to secure a competitive drive in the BTCC for 2005.

Owy in a MG ZS, now that would be good. He was on the pace with his Astra team mates for sure. He told me that he is hopefully of getting a good deal to drive next year. And I wish him all the best in getting a competitive drive. Good Luck Fella !!
