Belly13 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Shannons Nationals & Stuff

I am interested in attending the Shannons Nationals events at Eastern Creek in July and the Oran Park meeting in August. I have tried to access the website to find out what categories are going to be racing at each event. Maybe it hasn't been finalised yet. If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated.

Also, does anyone have a calendar of when and where the Biodiesel Supertrucks will be racing in 2008? I cannot attend the Oran Park meeting on ANZAC weekend due to work commitments. Will they still be racing in NSW after the demise of Oran Park? And if so, where?

I was also interested in attending the NSW State Road Racing Championships during the year. Does anyone know of a calendar, and also, the types of categories that race in these Championships?

Thanks.

Sorry, one more question. Does anyone know where the Improved Production Nationals will be held this year? Those cars at the FoSC at Mount Panorama on the weekend were awesome! Thanks again.

Some of the Nationals categories haven't signed off on their final schedules however Eastern Creek is likely to include F3,GT,Sports Sedans,Commodore Cup,Saloon Car and the new V8 Touring class while Oran Park in August will have Production Cars,Sports Sedans,V8 Touring,Formula Vee,Trucks and possibly a non Biante Historic Touring field. As for the future of truck racing neither Eastern Creek or Wakefield Park would let them destroy their track surface so that leaves them the options of Mallala/Barbagello only, going AASA to race at QR,Winton and Calder or collapsing entirely.I think the last option is the most likely as the category has been in free fall for the best part of a decade(come to think of it that seems to be the criteria for being part of the AASA/AMRC seies).

I'd like to see Oran Park keep going. I still can't quite grasp the greed of some who want to demolish it and build more bloody houses out there. With all of the land around it, you think they could spare OP and a bit of the surrounds but no no no.

I guess Sydney is going to turn into a place with billions of houses and nothing to do. yeah there is EC... and? no Amaroo, OP.

Belly, the "Shannons Nationals" have little relationship to the Improved Production National Titles. The Shannons Nationals has a website, www.thenationals.com.au.

To answer your more important question, the Improved Production National Titles (or "Nationals" as they are well known to both IPRA and FVee, before the other one caused the confusion) will be held at Oran Park in November. Quite likely the last normal (Non V8 Show) race meeting that will happen before the bulldozers move in.

Have a look at www.ipransw.com.au for more detailed information, as well as the calender for the NSW State Championship, and a link to the IPRA Forum.

The NSW Championship has HQ Sports Sedans, FFord, FVee, and Production Sports and more all taking up the time between the Over and Under 2 Litre IPRA races, usually with very full grids.

Hope to see you at Wakefield in a few weeks!!

Thanks for all of your help guys. It has been much appreciated.

Does anyone know what the admission prices are for NSWRRC events? And also, does anyone know the support categories for the Bathurst 1000 and the Oran Park Grand Finale weekend for the V8's(a bit off topic I know!!)?
