skells22 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
FIA F2 Monaco 2019

We start with a bit of news for next Friday and Saturday races and this is that the ex Russian Time driver A. Markelov will be in the MP car replacing just for this round the Indy Bound Jordan King.

Great job by the ever improving Ilott in qualy to go quickest in Group A Fellow FDA youngster Schumacher was 2nd but will line up 4th on the grid.

De Vries did the lap of the session though in Group B and will start from pole. Ghiotto made a late bid and annexed 2nd which will translates as 3rd on the actual grid.

They really need to get rid of Ragu and Calderon.

While the race-stopping shunt was not completely her fault, these two drivers are totally out of their depth and using all of their capabilities just getting round the track, albeit several seconds off the pace.

Tatiana not so much, and shunt probably SCH fault but it must be frustrating being behind someone 3 seconds off the pace yet defending like crazy.

I think FIA made a major mistake after that red flag. Forgot to send the lap cars around before the restart as per rule 42.3

The results should be declared null & void. Awful screw up by race control.

I have no problem with the "talented" Britsh/Korean driver. But sometimes he is dumb. It was his fault. Aitken was so slow.

I think because race control screwed up.
AFAIK they put the cars in race order after the red flag, but forgot to discount the lap that was completed by the cars that were not stuck behind the crashed car(s), so a lot of car (all bar 8?) lost a lap to the leaders while they had not been lapped on track.

Thanks for the clarification. Very schoolboy error by the organisers

As for Raga, he needs to put that spade away...

Surprised there hasn't been a comment about a Schumacher blocking the track at Rascasse again

That race was a shambles. Over half the field are out of their depth!.
Tbere was some absolutely shocking driving, most of it from the hitherto more experienced and touted entrants who drove like amateurs.

Agreed, series has gone downhill the last couple of years but hey, at least someone’s making money 🙄

Today’s race finished with a photo finish. Long time since Monaco had a finish that close. Last I can remember is the F3000 in 03, when Kiesa nicked it off Wirdheim, who celebrated too soon

Name the drivers please. Bashing them behind a dark curtain isn't nice. Apart from the Indian representative, all the other drivers are well on the pace.

Well on the pace of who or what?

There's only about 3 or 4 drivers who ate showing any consistency, which unfortunately is what you need in this series with the tyre aspect rather than outright pace.

Latifi kept crashing into people and should know better. He can afford the bills though.

Ghiotto nor Aitken could overtake that joker who runs 4-5 secs off the pace at the back. Maybe they were being too cautious because they know Ranga is that bad?

Gelael shouldn't be on the grid anymore he simply isn't very good (although his Dad has helped a few other drivers careers by sponsoring them to be his teammate.

Camara should be a frontrunner yet has struggled?!

Mazepin grossly overated by Peter Windbag.

Some of the others are very ordinary that I can't even remember their names!

The only ones I can see that are any good with any real chance of an F1 drive in future are De Vries but he would need a lot of money, Mick Schu (crashed but is gradually improving) Aitken, Zhou and possibly Ilott.

However I hope that we see better performances tbroughout the field in the coming races.

I think you're being extremely harsh to them. The playing field in F2 may not be brilliant but it is far from mediocre.

You've to consider that we have many rookies in the field. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.

We also had many rookies last year, 2 of them finished 1-2 in the series....

Even in this manipulated series, it is still possible for real talent to make an instant impression. In fact I would venture that proper drivers should find winning in this championship fairly straightforward..

However, it's main purpose in the last few years even going back to GP2 days appears to have been to 'farm' average, wealthy, well connected drivers who will bring money and interest in F1 from their home countries.
