big fan of Cairoli .. seems like he only has one gear .. always on the limit or beyond . might not win it this season .. but he's racing great

In MX2 Tyla Rattray has the series leaders red plate at the mo, and he wont want to give it to Toni if he can help it! Tyla has come so close in the last few seasons, this season is going well for him so i hope he does it! Our very own Tommy Gun had the red plate at one point but a bad round in Germany, and he gave that up!

In MX1 after a poor start and little injuries, Josh Coppins has found his pace from last year and is bound to take the title that he should have won last year!

MX3, not a follower TBH!!

Our domestic series is going good. In MX1, Billy Mac was running away with it until his shoulder injury, but he is riding again now so should retain his lead, and hie No1 plate. In MX2 Shaun simpson is showing the form that he is showing in the GP's (hence being signed to the Factory KTM team next year, early championship fav?!), but is only just ahead of an injured Stephen Sword. That will be a title fight worth watching...

Over in the states, James "Bubba" Stewart is unstoppable outdoors, so hes is a dead cert!! To be fair in the lites class, Ryan Villopoto is a dead cert too!!

Tyla is going well .. but he just doesn't have the air around him that Cairoli does .. he's a bit like Rossi

Agreed. He can whip it and show boat like no other! Must be the Italian connection??!! Tyla kind of keeps himself to himself, but has put in the point scoring rides... Tonis ride in Sweden wasnt great thats why i reckon Tyla will take MX2 honours this year. They both move classes for next year (i think) so the fight is on!!

Shame really as there are some british riders starting to fly the flag! Shock horror, a sport we are good at outside F1. Oh and Tommy Searle is off to the USA next season to try and beat the yanks at their own game! Good luck to him...

Cairoli has injured his left knee. Didnt finish either race. Could be back for the next round, depending on what surgery is required. Tyla still holds the red plate by 21 points. Another round like France and it could all change!!

IMO Coppins is so hungry to take the title (and i reckon he will do it!) this year after being cruely robbed last year.

The MXDN teams are being confirmed aswell, Team GB (who will be on home turf, an advantage??!!) is Tommy Searle, Billy Mac and Shaun Simpson. Team USA James "Bubba" Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and Tim Ferry. Not sure on any others yet. Im assuming Chad Reed will feature in Team Australia?

In the AMA Nats, you would have to be very stupid to bet against the green bikes to take the honours! Anyone seen Mike Alessis crash at Red Bud... ooh, nasty... will hunt down a link...

Shaun Simpson no score after fracturing his collarbone, looks doubtful for £rd in the final standings and the MXdN Team. Roll on '09, he's going to be quick!

Its going to be close in both MX1 and MX2 this year i think.

I would love for Coppins to win (MX1) it after having it taken form him after his crash last season. Phillipaerts has been right up there though.

Would be good for Searle to head across the pond as MX2 world champ. It could happen, 20 points isnt a massive gap. One poor round from Tyla....

Gomick, can you shed any light on Chad Reed? I now he has signed with Rockstar Makita Suzuki for '09, will he be riding the yellow bikes at the MXdN at Mallory Park in September?

Yeah, he just signed for Suzuki because the rumours are that James Stewart is going to sign for Yamaha... He will be riding the Suzuki's in the new Australian Super X Series which is being launched in October, so i am not sure whether he is doing MXdN or preparing for the Super X (which he is co-owner/promoter etc)...

James Stewart had the perfect season, winning everything which made the racing rather boring, a bit like a Ferrari racing a Minardi in the late 90's, but, congrats to him...

3. Andrew Short - 392

Yeah congrats to both riders, was pretty boring seeing them out front every race. There was alot more "racing" in the lites class though. With RV moving to the Motocross class next season along with Dungey(?) both classes should produce some good racing, what with our very own Tommy Searle joining the Lites class!
