Britcar Production S1 class-any news?
The EERC's own website gives no clues at all as to is doing what with what! With only a few weeks before the EERC press day at Silverstone are there going to be any in the class? I know of someone building a new shape Cooper S and "our own MP'" with an Alfa but who else will be out there. Somebody must know..."the truth is out there!"

Guess we will have to wait until press day to find out. From a few leads here and there it could be a superb class backing Britcar all the way. If the breed of cars I believe will be in it take part then it should be second to the BTCC for saloon car action! Hope it takes off as a series, then watch people start talking about it! You heard it here first!!!

There was a good number of them out last year and I know a few were going to stay on but its gone a bit quiet at the moment from the main camp-lets see though, I'm sure it will be good come the time.

With the car line up currently named on www.eerc.co.uk the meetings will soon surpass that of the BTCC. It really needs a few more 'big names' to get the ball rolling. The press day may answer a few questions but I feel it will still be down to who turns up for the races begining on 26th April. Are 50+ cars even allowed on the grid?

Snapperjack, the list on the EERC is for Britcar only not Production S1 as this is a new class for this year (devision of Britcar classes 3 & 4 plus some newcomers etc).
Production S1 is for production based saloons/hatches/coupes etc hence my quote about it being talked about later on this year as people catch on to the series etc. Also Sky Sports coverage of some rounds. |

PS. There are a few more than BTCC!!! |

As Snapperjack says...WOW! Hopefully Iv'e got our good friend James T' to list those entrants...a big well done to James and John on deciding to brave it and go with the 2 "formulas"...looks like they've hit the nail on the head. What is now now needed is to grab the spectators interest somehow...lets face it long distance races are (possibly) not the worlds most exciting for the average speccie' or marshal. But with all those cars it would be great for training someone on flags etc if nothing else! Can't wait though can't get to the press day I don't think.

Yes the entry list is out but please don't get to carried away.It may still take a couple of round till the grids are filled on a regular basis. After all some cars will still be in bulid or without drivers at the moment.Don't expect a full a grid stright out the bag although it will be a nice if it is.I just hope that brisports/ga get the grids they deserve now.

I'm always up for it! Yeah I could, but I need the other driver to share budget & we have quite alot of changes to make & work to do on the car to get it competitive. Hopefully will be there for Donnington

My father and myself are back this year for more.
I too am intrigued by who may be joining us this season. If it is anything like the last two seasons, then we are all in for more tight and very competative racing. Anyone else got any ideas as to who has registered with what? |

With the media launch/track day yesterday, I would have thought there would have been an update/report on their official website by now. www.eerc.co.uk to keep people interested. May be later.

Attended the Britcar press day (well done to all the team especially Steve Woods) and one of a few things that struck me was the "possible" lack of usage of wing mirrors being and the general "competitivness" of some drivers despite it being just a test day for drivers to check out cars and get a feel for things. The silver Marcos that took out poor Don Norchi's Volvo on the main straight was to highlight what I mean-Don now seemingly left with a heavily damaged (possibly a new shell or out for the remainder of the year?) car. Lets hope that remaining test sessions (and races!) are conducted with more thought towards fellow competitors. Roll on Silverstone.

The day seemed very productive for most. It was a big shame to see so much damage so close to the first round. I met a few new faces which was good. How did you get on wilbo? Has anybody got any news with regards to the new classes? Any new entrants?

Yes I enjoyed the day (apart from the unessesery incidents). Hope Don Norchi isn't in to much discomfort and that he makes the first event since he was just mindind his own business. Also hope the series is a success, damage minimal throughout and that it all settles down from the off.
Have a look on eerc for registered cars. I expect there will be an entry list posted by James's team early/mid week next week as closing date for entries is Friday. |

I'm in an alfa romeo ex italian touring car winner in 2000 so I hope its got potential for this season, its FWD and Italian so it suits my previous experience perfectly. Our main rivals, sorry victims are clios and mazdas, and I hope mark ticehurst reads this and remembers I sold him the best ever alfa romeo he ever drove (mark get in touch love to chat) See you all Saturday MP |
