Isn't it wonderful that fourm members who have been here for only a short while like to dictate to those who have been here much, much longer what they should or should not say here??
This is the responsibility of the moderators and for those who feel offended, there is a perfectly good avenue of recourse to redress their dislikes. |

If that was directed at me, V-B, it was a joke. You said "I could go on..", I said "Please don't". If it wasn't, well, ignore the previous sentences.

OK, no problem, V-B. I was probably being oversensitive.

I remember reading something with quotes from Frank Williams. He basically said that HHF was the most sensative driver that he'd ever met and that he was better than his performances at Williams.
I don't think Williams can be blamed for JV, but they've certainly not done themselves any favors. Paying a driver a few million more to keep them rather than changing drivers makes sense. No one would leave Williams only for an extra million or so and give up the chance to win. That way the team could have its cake and eat it too. They really don't seem to be good with most drivers. Hill going from Williams to Arrows was almost too much to take. Mansell left for Champ Car, which isn't conceivable today. Oddly both Ralf and JPM did better at Williams. I don't think Williams extracted the best from either of them, but at both are really struggling at their new teams. I think viewing a driver as a commodity is a mistake. Why do some drivers perform completely differently on different teams? eg. Why was Fisi closer to Alonso last year in a Sauber than he is this year in the same car? Obviously there's more to a team than simply having good people, they have to work together. That's why HHF looked useless in Williams one year and a worthy WDC in a Jordan the next! |

I wouldn't say JPM is struggling. He's generally as good as or better than he was at Williams. It's just that he's now got a superstar team-mate. |
