Not in qualifying Theyre getting there I guess. 'Only' about 8.5-9 seconds off pace in Qualifying. Theyll need to get faster because even p2 is better.

Very strange, each session this weekend they have gone slower and slower.

Maybe COTA was an easier track to dial the car in?

Maybe, they definitely would benefit from a second car, just for reference the times this weekend

FP1: 1:34.2
FP2: 1:34.7
FP3 1:36.6
QP: 1:35.4

In FP3 the car did very few laps though, anyone know why?

Apparently the CLM was not only cribbled with understeer in qualifying, but more worryingly the chassis is still also 75kg overweight (!) in comparison to Rebellion AND Rebellion could still push their weight down by further 25kg if ACO would allow such reduction in non-ERS minimum weight. Surely Kodewa must do something about that much extra mass to carry around.

I heard that before. Rebellion could go as low as 775kg. Whered you get the 75kg overweight info from on the CLM?

Thanks. Saved me time searching through the various sites.

Looks like they have a lot of work to do over the next few months before next year.

Isn't LMP2 900kg? The chassis was probably designed with that in mind, and apparently the LMP1 is exactly the same car.

I guess now that they have to rebuild the whole thing presumably from scratch again they can also look into the weight reduction... could hamper rumored plans for second car next year if the budget is tight.

Anyone have video of the fire yet? Skipped the race

Im sure some Japanese fans will have youtube vids up tomorrow. Maybe one will include the fire. Pretty sure it wasn't external before reaching and stopping in the pits though.

Such a shame, I hope it's not the end of this car, after finally getting on track and proving many of us wrong, but I fear the worst. I wish the team all the best with their rebuild.

Knowing how non-existent the information flow from teams side has been for... as long as the project has existed really, we likely won't know for sure what's gonna be happening with this thing for a good while

They say life is full of surprises. That our dreams really can come true. Then again, so can our nightmares. Mr Kolles knows it. I believe this was the last time we heard about this Lotus LMP1.

Then again we said the same when it was finally thrown off from the Le Mans entry list, so holding horses in the barn could be a good idea.

Love how all DSC said was

With the tub of this car probably way to damage and with only one more tub to be ready for PRAGA in P2, probably this is the last race of Lotus P1… i hope not but!!!!!!
