I was just thinking how long it had been since the start of the race had been flagged due to a stall. And then we have one...

Lap 3, looks like taku's gonna lose his engine soon holding up kimi, ms, rb, and dc
oh engine gone, big impact crash too, Fisi out, upside down in the barrier, huge amount of smoke into tabac, completely blind, hits the back of dc... DC out too. Safety car out. Last edited by Try Hard; 23 May 2004 at 12:19. |

Sato's start was awesome, take that schumi, bit of his own medicine for once (although he was slow off the line)

Scary crash for Fisichella though.
If BAR knew that Sato's engine was gonna blow, they should have pulled him in...not just tried to hold up Raikonnen & Schumacher for any longer to give Button an advantage. (Didn't work anyway did it!) |

I was a bit worried when I saw that Sauber inverted into the barrier....totally unharmed thankfully! Phew....
How long has Buttons engine got left.....that was smoking similarly to Satos. |

The Marshal work is appalling...!
Standing on the track, not moving stuck cars, putting out the wrong flags, even dropping their flags! |

yeah didn't quite know where to look in the first 3 laps.
Alonso got ahead of button on the start, so reggies 1 and 2, button 3rd, Sato and Kimi managed to jump MS, sato literally bumping MS out the way, driving between MS and Kimi. Sato's car started smoking almost straight away, blew up into tabac ont eh 3rd lap, after losing 6 seconds to first (and holding everyone up). DC swerve in the ensuring smoke, and Fisi hot his back and into the air, landing sideways onto the barrier... looked and ugly crash. Fisi ok though. Sfety car still out |

Webber out, not sure for the reason. I thought something was wrong when he came out of the tunnel, he pulled to the left as the camera cut away.
Monty in, lap 13. Last edited by Try Hard; 23 May 2004 at 12:34. |

What strategy are these Williams on? Ralf's race is wrecked already from stopping duing the SC, and Montoya's just stopped

So Monty was light on fuel in qualie. Hmmm. Williams have played a blinder maybe with Ralf. When everyone else ahead of him pits he can really push and makes a fair few places.

3 stops maybe for the willaims?
Trulli is deffiently gapping alonso, He look on fire (not literally). Pantano out, engine by the look of it, shame for the yellow cars. |

Maybe not actually, Ralf is still a fair way back. Better hope they filled him up good.

looking very good for the renaults on the first few stops, MS doesn't seem to be able to catch Kimi, all the time allowing the renaults to build a lead...

Why shame? Heidfeld's 9th...points possible with some more fall outs.
Looks like some small guys are gonna score today |
