All drivers are paid to drive in WTCC and DTM?
I was wondering if all drivers from DTM and WTCC are paid to drive. If negative, how much is a seat in both series?

Considering the drivers are all proffesionals I'd say yes.
DTM I'd expect would be far greater than WTCC |

Far far from it. The vast majority of privateers in both series actually pay to drive.

drivers costs
No idea about DTM but a privateer in WTCC would see little change from 500,000 euros.

To my knowledge almost all drivers were payed last year in DTM, perhaps some privateer who would make the exception.
The situation is not the same in WTCC, especially not for the privateers. |

Most will get some sort of income, just not necessarily in the way you think. Privateers who pay the team won't take the money from their own pocket but will have sponsors providing the funding, some of which will end up back with the driver. Not really a salary in the conventional sense but still income. One of the usual ways is to secure a sponsorship budget big enough to cover the running costs for a year then split whatever is left with the team.

I thought someone said all DTM MB drivers are technically paid by MB. However, the driver's themselves may also have paid money to the team or had enough money/technical knowhow to convince MB to sell them a car to race in?

Exactly. Most WTCC and DTM drivers make a living at racing, even if they have to find sponsorship deal to be in the car. |

I think someone mentioned Frentzen was asking 1M EURO(???) to drive for Opel, but Audi is balking at paying him that much?
