Yes, and it is silly to plan ground works in the winter if you can avoid it. A March\April start should give them plenty of time.

Today a lap completed on the public part of the circuit. No works. I tried to go to the karting circuit to see if something is on arounfd there but the karting circuit was off. To be continued....

The ACO will announce work to be done at Tertre Rouge and Corvette corners at their annual press conference in Paris on 13 February.

They would probably cut down some of the legendary plane trees, in the beginning of the Hunaudières. Should it be bad for the pictures or good for security ?

Is it not possible to put soft barriers for a bit along where Allan crashed? If someone else get a tankslapper and ends up that far away.
Edit: I understand that must have been the Number 1 suggestion.. Let's see what they have come up with |

It would be ideal to have something like SAFER barrier there, but not sure how quickly and efficiently that can be retrofitted to armco barrier on a public road.

I believe SAFER would be possible. They are just filled with sand to be held in place. |

Looks to me like they're adding a little more tarmac run-off.

that will reduce the gravel trap and allow cars to cut the corners surely, hardly slowing the cars down

The biggest change is the tarmac on driver's left on the run down the hill to the Esses. That widens the road fairly significantly there where before it was just grass. Not sure if it means anything but the new patch of tarmac starts pretty much exactly where McNish left the road. Not that it would do anything to have helped a freak crash of that nature.
Everywhere else there was already tarmac at the side of the track in those places anyway. I don't think it will allow them to cut the corners more. They take a bit of curb on entry to the Esses and barely any on the exit. That area beyond the curb on exit normally has green bollards over it anyway. I couldn't tell you what's changed on the rest of the Bugatti Circuit. Don't care either. |
