FordPrefect should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
At The Glen ..Surprise ...Surprise

Am I going crazy? Dale Jarrett has the pole!!!! I may have to move my feelings about this man up a few notches. Good for him, that was sort of out of the blue.

Top Ten were:

1. (88) Dale Jarrett, Ford, 122.698.

2. (28) Ricky Rudd, Ford, 122.301.

3. (25) Jerry Nadeau, Chevrolet, 122.235.

4. (31) Robby Gordon, Chevrolet, 122.218.

5. (2) Rusty Wallace, Ford, 122.042.

6. (87) Ron Fellows, Chevrolet, 121.956.

7. (66) Todd Bodine, Ford, 121.860.

8. (01) Scott Pruett, Dodge, 121.791.

9. (43) John Andretti, Dodge, 121.749.

10. (29) Kevin Harvick, Chevrolet, 121.722.

And another surprise, Tony Stewart was 11th and Jeff Gordon in lucky 13th. I expect those two to put on a real battle as they move up the field.

I will also go on record as saying that I feel bringing in hired guns is detrimental to the sport.

Looking forward to this race.

Holy Cow! Dale Jarrett on the pole? Did Robert Yates finally leave that 8 year old former Davey Allison car at home for once?

I always look forward to this race. This is one of my favorite road races all year and really one of my favorite races overall period of any racing series. I love seeing the train of cars going through the Innerloop. This is what road racing is supposed to be all about, no button pushing, or paddle flipping, just a man, a steering wheel, and a stickshift.

And look at that top ten. This is the Super Bowl of North American Road Racing! This will be the best road race this weekend race fans.

Did you read the explanation for R Gordon going out? The TV camera box in his car caused the fire!!! The winner Gordon was sympathetic and said something similar happened to him at Daytona...anyway I respect RG for what he's been able to do on road courses in recent years with cars like the #96, 7, and 31.

never knew what caused robby gordons retirement ..... that was a great race and the "superstar" jeff gordon definitely showed that he is going to be tough to beat for the title this year - wish there were about 4 or 5 road course races in the season

You got to be kidding me! Two is too many! Only about a hand full of drivers able to win these races unless there are accidents, yellows or because of pit strategy. I hope the Dupunk punk has some of the same luck DJ has been having,in triple, can't stand the little turncoat!!!

Couldn't agree less If you can't turn left and right you aren't much of a driver.

Yes I know it's not easy on the ovals but I feel that road courses add another dimension to the series that is very worthwhile. I also realise that I'm in the minority on that one.

Btw congrats to Jeff for showing them (once again) how it's done. Too bad the 'other' Gordon' got screwed by a malfunctioning battery pack for a global-positioning system device. I really thought he would have won the race if this hadn't happened. Also hope he comes up with a ride for the rest of the year.
Kevin Harvick also continues to impress me, a great talent taking advantage of sad circumstances. Jeremy Mayfield also had a great race.

As a Canadian I was sorry to see Ron Fellows go out so early, I would love to have seen him and Gordon go for it.

I agree. Road courses show talent, and ovals get boring after awhile.
