Not being funny, even if it is hot (and sometimes especially so) if you're thinking of staying up all night pack a good base layer and jacket. Even a hot night in northern Europe can feel pretty cold when you're tired.

I remember one night in the early 2000s when the weather was scorching. All through the night it stayed hot, until about an hour before dawn when there was suddenly a real chill. Glad to have my fleece then, even if only for a couple of hours.

Racing Elements app also contradicts the Accuweather prediction.

To be honest a brief downpour on Thursday I think we can probably cope with, and there seems to be a real consensus that we should be fine for Sat/Sun.

We're also setting up on Tuesday - bringing smaller and thus quicker to assemble tent for me - but have a sneaking suspicion the goretex might get a brief workout...

PUT THE GAZEBO UP FIRST, Then you can either sit undedr it and wait until it stops having a drink while you wait or put the tent up under the gazebo then move the gazebo

Make sure your gazebo is waterproof... Last time I attended in 2010 we had just pitched tents and gazebo when the heavens opened. We all sheltered under the gazebo, then when it started having the waterproof qualities of a colander we ended sitting in our tents for an hour! That's why it was so cheap at Argos!

Yes sometimes the water collects on the gazebo roof in large pools and bends the frame, so keep emptying those collection places before the gazebo is ruined

This morning's weather check shows moderate to light rain Tues/Weds/Thurs but sunshine (albeit with slightly cooler temperatures) for Fri/Sat/Sun.

That I can live with.
