Privateers - New Rules

Do you think the new rules, if heaps of manufacturers join in, will still allow privateers to build their own cars, be competitive and not be too expensive. Its good this year, because apart from the Vauxhalls, which had heaps of development, the Lexus and Alfa seem to be comparable to the Peugeot's. I hope the privateers can still be very competitve, like the way Grice raced his Commodore against the factory Volvo's, Rover's, Ford's and BMW's in the 86 ETC. Already Roberto Ravaglia has said the rules are good but not cheap enough, what does everyone else think.

I think privateers can compete w/the manufacturers. I still think ultimately the manufacturers will always come out on top, but w/privateers being able to buy competitive year-old cars (i.e. 2001 Astras for 2002) its possible. Also, ABG and JSM are roughly at the same level as Pug, with a little less development. So i also think this is another reason why manufcaturers and privateers can really mix it up together!
