haha, this is going to be an interesting season. Did the wheels have covers again? Or is that just testing?!

Piquet, I hear (not ideal, I know), was excluded from first qualifying for running smaller brake ducts than those permitted. He had qualified fourth.

They say he won't be able to start the race, even from the back. Shame. Would have been fun to see how high he could have got ...

Still, a superb effort to qualify second for the later race.

Piquet jnr can't start race 1 because he effectively becomes the 31st man on a 30-car grid. Yes, it was quite a minor infringement.

Keohane is in a Promatecme Dallara - I assume he had some problems in sesh 2, seeing as he managed only a handful of laps on his way to 20th - he was 6th first time out.

A big well done to Jamie Green for his two poles. The more you think about it the clearer it is that he is Carlin's man most likely. Antinucci perhaps not as prone to hot-headedness as he was, but it is still there; van der Merwe hardly sparkled with the team last year; and Bremer has never really set the world alight.

Viso showed well in the Scholarship class, too.

I've got to agree. Green improved consistently last year, gradually learning and getting quicker. I think he's really someone who can keep his head down, get on with it and be damn fast.

Is it just me or is this year's F3 field not one of the more vintage years? Last year's was pretty competitive, but I don't get the same feeling that there are any geniuses in this year's field. Green and Nelsinho apart, if they keep their first round form going.

Antinucci was our favourite here at www.fantasytocatour.co.uk so Green is good value at 2nd favourite - not too late to register your fantasy f3 team though of course you won't get points for yesterday's qualifying now!!

There has to be thin years every now and then. Piquet certainly seems to have stuff up his sleeve though, great qualifying! I wish i was there to see how he drives

Shame that Nelsinho misses out on racing in round 1, seems a little bit harsh but rules are rules I guess.

I wanna see how he does in race 2! That should be a corker!

Interesting re Nelsinho that the team did not put pressure (or at least did not succeed in doing so!) on one of the qualified cars to withdraw, thus letting him on the back of the grid as first reserve.

Perhaps because the driver on the back of the grid has a dad with more money than Nelson's!
