RaceTime should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Race Programs

I have programs from various race tracks in Australia gling back to at least 1985. Included in these are series championship regulations as well. These were used as Master Entry List copies for my timing - so they are usually the most accurate reflection of who was and wasn't at a race meeting.

Winton, Sandown, Calder, Thunderdome, Phillip Island, Barbagallo, Oran Park are the primary circuits - however some AGP and Bathurst programs are also included.

If anyone is interested in having them, before they get dumped, let me know.

Location outer eastern Melbourne suburbs.

Nothing, zip, free, zero

Only catch - you have to pick them up There are a lot of them though, so be prepared for nearly 15 years of race programs.

I also noticed, included in them, are the first 4 or 5 years or programs from the Indy Carnival on the Gold Coast, and also numerous media guides from Shell, Thunderdome and Indy.

Damn, pity it's too a long drive to the outer suburbs of Melbourne from here, otherwise I'd be more than willing to take them off your hands

Hehe - where are you?

Pity there are so many for posting really - I have been hanging on to a race program from every meeting we timed from way back in 85 - most were also used as Master's to correct driver names, spelling etc - so they are up to dat and reflect (usually) what happened on the track.

I have had one email from someone in Melb who wants them - will see what happens as I (sorry make that - The Wife) wants to clear them out ASAP - I also need the space...

Arrggghhhh.... I've finally found a bad thing about living in QLD

That brings up the question- what are the best programs that everyone has?

Worst would *have* to be Winton's - home made (literally), bad spelling mistakes, badly copied pictures.

Quality wise - Thunderdome and Sandowns.

Content wise - hard to say - Barbagallo's are or were usually good.

I haven't taken into account series programs though as I believe they have to be the worst valud for money in states where they race more than once - round one misses 8 pages from the program intentially which are then used for Round 2 onwards for descriptions of current drivers - but the remainder of the program is the same (except for entry lists).

My best program is the 1989 Australian GP, signed by Piquet and Gugelmin, definantly top of the list.

As for the programs that I have, my favourites are from the US-vs-AUS Thunderdome meeting in late 1994 and one from the first round of the 1995 SATCC at Sandown. Those two are my favourites because, of all the programs that I have, those are the only two that I actually got at the meeting.

I wouldn't mind nabbing a few. Are you able to bring them up with you in a few weeks time?

Probably my best are the ones from the first ever meeting at Baskerville (what the?), 1980 AGP, a few early Bathursts, and a few overseas GPs, especially from England.

elephino - I could but to be honest I want to move the lot in one go - otherwise people will just pick and choose and I will still have heaps to get rid of.

I have had 3 requests - just waiting for the first one to see if he takes it up - will give to Tuesday and see what happens.

If i wasn't so far away i'd be there before you knew it.

The best programs i have would probably be one for the 1981 Caesers Palace F1 Grand Prix (well actually got from family, was only born in '83). I have a heap of Bathurst ones - 83, 87, 88, 89, 90, 92, 93-96, 97 & 98 AMP, 1998 FAI, they are all pretty good reads.

The very best two i have though (although again got these through family) are the official programs to the 1996 & 1999 Indianapolis 500, they are both absolutly fantastic.

Only problem - I want to shift the whole lot rather than bits and pieces. I have one gorum-user who has said he will pick them up Friday - if he doesn't show have another next in line.

Hope you understand - but (as it turns out) 18 years of programs, media guides, rules and regulations is becoming a bit much to store...
