I like the one where they are applying the tyre black to the Valvoline Car at the pitstop. Repco ad I think it was

Yeah, a Repco one. Also, next time you walk into a SuperCheap store, ask one of the workers where the pit lane rattle gun went and see waht reaction they make. Some are absolute classics

Yes Greg, waste our time with questions like that, try that in my store and I'll tell you where the rattle guns are and where you can put it.

The Bridgestone commercial of 2001 featuring the FTR Falcon's and HRT Commodore's had a pretty nice soundtrack.

But alas most advertisments featuring the tempremental giants usually involve some screeching guitar, yelling or "Mick", "Steveo", some guy annoying fellow office workers or a white male being sucked into a WPS Falcon with promises of amazing rates and not forgetting to leave in a cloud of smoke, not too disimlar to HRT fans VL or VN Commodores at the local shop and go.

I feel dirty and embarresed to be a V8 fan at times...

down in tassie we don't get to many V8 adds. just a couple of super cheap ones.

my favorite was a ford one with Lowndes and Ambrose with Ambrose in the back seat of a car watching a DVD with some popcorn

Interesting, I'm in WA and the only ad of all the ones mentioned above that I have seen is the Repco one, why are V8 Supercar sponsers not advertising in WA? Supercheap advertises, but not many of the ads feature Murphy

Anyone remember the Vitabrit advertisement, with Johnson and Brock at Sandown (getting beaten by the Vitabrit)

Dunlop and Yokohama used to have some good ads in the 80s, punting cars like Lasers and the old Village Grand Prix cars around the likes of Amaroo and Oran Park.

You mean the one at Eastern Creek with Lowndes in his FPR car and Ambrose in a road car and Lowndes screams off and Ambrose is in the back seat watching himself doing burnouts?

TKR are used in the Wattyl and Makita TVC and print adds as well as by many of their other sponsors in print advertising here in New Zealand.

In fact Wattyl currently have a promotion running that sees you able to win a TKR Crewman and TKR boat and it is on the TV all the time.

Makita have also just finished a TVC campaign using TKR.

Great to see sponsors using their V8 Supercar sponsorship properties in TVC and print materials.

One of the Greats

Funny thing about the Vitabrit ad, was the slug having a whinge about his payment compared to that of Brock and Johnson.

Both enjoyable ads (and an ad needs to be pretty good to be able to tolerate it - I don't like ads).

I never actually caught the full take of the first ad above, but what I did see was good.

I always thought the Brigestone ads of the mid '90s were funny. Peter Brock, Glenn Seton, Alan Jones, and there was someone else that I can't remember (not Lowndes).

Then there was the 'infamous' Monroe ad, where Glenn totally looked like a dick on the commercial. "Brakes, tyres and shock absorbers". It took a long time for this Seton supporter to live such a pathetic advertisement down.

i also like the falcon ad, where marcos and lowndesy are lining up on a running field as if they are gonna have a running race to see who can get to the falcon first, in their suits and hemets, and the gun goes off, they both take off to the falcon, and when they get there, the window goes down and Russell Ingall and his wife julia are already sitting in the car, thats a good one

The best ads were the Scalextric advertisements.

Rather than staged racing, we got real footage (mixed in with some scalextric racing).

Same went with the Aurura AFX ads (They still in business?)
