Only a Ford will Understand

Been walking around all week sniggering everytime I see a Holden / HRT shirt and its owner.Sat next to one in my Ford sloppy joe and had to restrain myself. Instead I have taken it out on those closest to me who support the Lion.
My workmate who is a mad fan of the nose is going to kill me if I again mention Holden and Skaife's performance
Then I rang my mate, who has been giving me heaps for years and got my 2 year old on the phone yelling at him, " Daaaaaave, Fords ... are BEST!"
After he repeated it 10 times I got the phone back !
I love my son

How sweet it is.............

Yes, it's all good, but it's not over yet.

Russell Ingall, first Ford in the Championship.

What are the chances that HRT and their cronies will somehow try to nobble the Fantasic Falcon now that they have won a couple of races? Probably quite high i reckon.

How will Holden justify a parity adjustment after last season? Their standard line in 2002 was that the Commodore was NOT superior to the Falcon, but Holden won the races because the Ford teams just kept screwing up.

This season? Skaife exceeds the pit lane speed limit at Phillip Island and gets a drive-thru penalty (driver error). Skaife and Kelly have flat tyres caused by wheel problems (team error during pit stop). Bright and Murphy have to compromise on set-up due to lack of testing caused by 3 team problem (corporate error).

Ambrose, Lowndes and Ingall are getting results because they are now not forced to race inferior cars at 11-tenths, which takes the heat of the teams during pit stops, allows them to RACE for all 300kms, etc. The leading BAs are thrashing the AUs because they are better cars (the leading AU, Besnard, was LAPPED at Eastern Creek). The leading VXs are beating the VYs because the VY teams are screwing up.

Motorsport News spoke the the Ford Performance Racing tech guy a while back and he said something like, "We want to build a car slower than HRT's and then beat them because we are a better team". Sounds to me like that is just what is happening: Lowndes 8th in qualfying, 4th in shoot out, 2nd in race. To me, that appears to be a team making a good, not great, car get results.

I do not particularly care whether Holden of Ford win the races (I drive a Japanese car). But... having witnessed all the Holden dominance over the last 3 seasons, I have no problem with the Ford teams sharing the wins for a while.

Try the last 5 seasons and a few Bathursts before that...

Anyhow, whoever wins, I don't mind but I'm happy 'cos Ingall's the first Ford in the championship.

Apparently the wheel problems are due to the VY having a different offset to the VX and the fact that during pitstops, if the nut is not seated absolutely right, it moves the wheel into contact with the bolt on the lower arm (according to AA). This doesn't necessarily mean the VY is a quicker car than the BA and the results show the BA is beating it because it's bugs haven't been ironed out yet.

The Ford teams have got their sh it together this year and the ownership problem doesn't help Holden either.

No parity adjustment is warranted at all, even if Holden don't win for a few meetings. I don't mind Skaife winning up to a point, but the one-sided results of recent times are too much for the sport to bear.

I've stuck it out as a Ford supporter for ages, it's nice to see some reward for the patience of enduring countless thrashings at the hands of the Holdens...Ford is back, and they're gonna win the championship. I don't care who wins it, as long as they have a Blue Oval on the front

I agree with all of you>

This was my point in starting this thread. It's been a long time between drinks for the faithful and I for one am so sick of putting up with the smug arrogance from the Lion's den. This year the shoe is so far on the other foot and the fact HRT have lost their connection with TWR and the resources it can draw on an added bonuus, especially when you consider FPR's connection with David Richards.
I'm sure they'll be back up the front end sooner rather than later, but I'm making hay while the sun is shining. I encourage you all to do everything possible to irritate your mates who follow the Lion. They've all been quite happy to rub our noses in it for years. It's TIME FOR PAYBACK !!

PS One of my sons daycare teachers has a HRT shirt she wore today. HEHEHEHEHEHE, Don't think she'll be wearing that to work for a while now. Between me, my son ( who tells her Fords are Best when I prompt him) and the dude in the kitchen who is also one of the faithful, she was getting reminded of our 1,2,3 all day! Please post your results here, REVENGE IS SWEET!

Kids, 2 wins don't make a championship. Team Brock is leading the Championship...................

Look guys I won't be cruel or anything but I will say enjoy the victory bask in the wonderful felling of contentment that victory brings, savour the moment..........

Cause A Holden will still win the Championship.

Hey ColinBond you old Ford driver you, Holden may be out the front now, but!!!

If you believe what others are saying, if you drop the worst round, which is in the rules, then Lowndes is leading the race!!!

My worst nightmare is Ford doing well this year then getting nobbled just before Bathurst, and then the Commodores running away with the race.

But there should be no parity adjustment until the "final product" VY Commodore is released by HRT. At the current state of play, Team Dynamik and GRM are the only Aurora-engined cars playing along and they are still ironing out the bugs.

The VY and BY need to both be introduced at the same time by the heavy hitters, and this is pretty impossible to achieve. It's messy and an unclear picture has developed on how quick the VY actually is or can be.

The BA is so far a fantastic car in every way, but they haven't driven it against the opposition in its ultimate version.

I would agree with Colinbond atm...

Holden is leading the championship in VX models, and even after the worst rounds get dumped, they are still right there. I just wish that the VY and BA were being driven by all the top teams.
