Is the chamberlain car ok? I saw it was well down the timesheet. Looks like it might have to be Sunday's TT meet then... So is there any way to view from the inside of track at Arnage - i'm thinking not, but does that mean i have to go all the way to the tunnel's near the start then cross under and then walk right round to arnage??? |

But yes, you'll have to make the trip from Arnage to Blue park gate/Central gate/Main gate, then cross under, then climb (from Blue, Central) or go downhill (from Main) to the Welcome area (Village). |

Knowing Hugh he'll tape it back together tho!!! There appears to be a tunnel under the circuit at the Porsche Curves. Will general entry tickets - which i have to purchase - get me into the Arnage viewing area? Where does this infamous shuttle run from -to? I have never found it in 16 visits to Le Mans!!! |

Thanks Robert.
Now just have to decide whether to walk to main gate from Beau Sejour to get the shuttle to Arnage or whether to walk straight there!! |

Hi guys and gals. Well its 9.10 here in the New Forest. I've just come back from the gym, so its off to the shower, put the last finishing touches to my bag and then off to Bournemouth for the flight to Paris. A night in Paris then (hopefully) pedal to the metal to get to Le Mans at a reasonable time tomorrow. So, last message from me - over and out - probably until Tuesday now. OK Fab, I'm nearly on my way...... (at bloody last!).

Some interesting documents on lemans.org:
* individual lap time of all drivers * top speeds yesterday Some remarks about top speed: * Pescarolos and Courage: a bit more than 320 km/h (rough average of top 5) * Oreca Audi: around 310 km/h * Champion Audis: only a bit more than 300 km/h (more downforce in their setup than Oreca?) * Prodrive cars (Aston Martins and fastest Ferrari 550): 300 km/h * Corvette: 290 km/h Some remarks about lap time of individual drivers: * Pescarolo: 1) Collard 3:34.715 2) Ayari 3:35.555 3) Comas 3:37.217 13) Boullion 3:40.104 14) Helary 3:40.866 17) Loeb 3:41.225 * Audi: 4) McNish 3:37.795 6) Montagny 3:38.281 9) Kristensen 3:38.988 10) Werner 3:39.194 15) Biela 3:41.172 18) Ortelli 3:41.783 19) Gounon 3:41.857 23) Lehto 3:43.067 25) Pirro 3:43.471 -> Loeb is already faster than numerous Le Mans experts from Audi -> the difference between the slowest times (a good indication for the race pace) of Audi and Pescarolo is a bit less than 3 sec |

The pace of the Aston Martin drivers is impressive:
35) Enge 3:48.576 43) Brabham 3:49.739 46) Turner 3:51.251 52) Sarrazin 3:52.975 55) Lamy 3:53.943 59) Kox 3:55.135 Compared to Corvette: 50) Gavin 3:52.426 57) Magnussen 3:54.639 64) O'Connel 3:55.941 66) Beretta 3:57.148 69) Papis 3:57.994 72) Fellows 3:58.831 If the Aston Martin do not run into trouble (and if the Corvette magically find some extra pace during the race), it could be a easy victory for them. |

A gap of about three seconds between the Pescarolo and Audi is not important. That represents 3 * 16 laps = 45 to 50 seconds per hour and about 5 to 6 laps only for 24 hours. I think Pescarolo should take at least 10 laps in order to win. The final result will rely on their preparation and their pilots wisdom at the wheel.

Been watching since 4 on Eurosport.
God those cars look nice at dusk. Wish I was there rather than revising A Levels. |

Take the "in a row" out and your pretty much correct! Congratulations to Tom and his whole team - I did unfortunately miss a few parts of the race due to work duties and getting somewhat drunk last night lol - but been hooked on RLM since 9am and seems like we've had a real great race, and has been won by a real star! But let's not forget it's a team effort, so don't just think of Tom Kristensen, think of the whole team.

Kristensen is amazing, Marco werner and JJ lehto couldn't have done better.
Audi has created a legend in LeMans racing with the R8 the likes which may not be seeen in many decades. even if Aysedasi thinks they are ugly. and the corvettes! i thought they were going to the gallows- but no a crazy bulletproof (even if a slower qualifying to deal with and tough pace by the ASTON Martin Dbr9) who doesn't like pushrods funny the usual cast of characters in GT2, but Flying Lizard really did well with a podium eh? and LMP2- they were racing?> Lola again but this is so off the pace-what gives |
