ok, but apart from Oulton

Lot of discussion going on about the NW. Ranging from "I'm ok, pull the ladder up" type views, to views that attempt to look longer term. But diddly squat about southern circuits and championships. Why is that? Is there apathy in the South?

Bit harsh to suggest that FF1600 racers south of Cheshire are guilty of apathy because they don't choose to debate their business in an internet forum, but I do see your point.

That said, just because the North West FFord community shouts loudest on a particular forum, it doesn't mean that they care about their championship any more than the Castle Combe racers, for example.

The lack of chat from South Eastern FF1600 competitors is probably at least partly due to the fact that there is no longer a unified local FF1600 scene in the Brands Hatch region (as demonstrated by the fact that the last two regional FF1600 champions in the area travelled from North Wales and Ireland respectively to race at Brands), but that does seem to be improving as the MotorSport Vision series finally picks up some momentum.

But again, not everyone feels comfortable in forum debates, and some prefer to make their views known through other mediums. I don't remember seeing much of Peter Alexander in ten-tenths.com discussion, but no-one could accuse him of being apathetic about Formula Ford - just look at some of the passionate statements on his team's website.

I'm here and butt in occassionaly, but I do agree that there is a Northern bias but it surely follows that for whatever reasons there is a greater proportion of drivers in the north so there are more who post on here.

There is not such a community down here as there is at Oulton or a Diz

ok then, fair points both, Tim & Ill at ease. Maybe no apathy exists down south and everyone is comfortable with waiting to see what 2006 brings us all.

I would love to do all of them but I can only afford one so have chosen the WHT, it is the closest to home, the cheapest and I haven't been before even as a spectator!

How about yourself?

Thanks Ian, I did read the highlights but your usual very comprehensive report defeated a coffee break, lunch break, tea break!
Cheers
