3 RACES for £100 - Anglesey 4th December 2005

"ANGLESEY CIRCUIT CLUB WINTER CAR RACES”

Anglesey Circuit Club will be organising a Race Meeting at the Anglesey Circuit on Sunday 4 December. The Raceday’ will be a 12 race affair with 2 Heats and a Final for 4 categories that will encompass just about every type of car on the National Racing scene.

1. Formula Ford 1600
2. Sports Cars
3. Saloon Cars
4. Single Seater Racing Cars upto 2000cc
Classes will be formed from the entries received.

Sports Cars can be anything from Radicals, Caterhams, Westfields, MGs’, Ginettas, Historic Sports etc.

Saloon Cars can include the likes of XRs’, Stock / Hot Hatch, Ford Saloons, Super Coupe, SELOC BMWs’, Historic Saloons and Alfa Romeos’.

Single Seaters from the ranks of Monoposto, Formula Jedi, Formula Renault 1700, ARP F3, FF2000

Anglesey Circuit Club know that many Track Day drivers have taken their ARDS Test and possess a Race Licence, but many haven't actually raced yet. So if any Track Day drivers fancy a fun race meeting they would be more than welcome to take their first steps into actually racing at this meeting.

Lap times at Anglesey Circuit are similar to Brands Hatch Indy.

The race entry fee for qualifying and 3 races will be a bargain £100

Anybody wishing to do pre race testing will be able to do so on Saturday 3 December for £65 [pre booked] £75 on the day

The Paddock Bar and Bistro will be open on the Saturday evening for those staying on circuit.

Entry Forms are available from ff1600.nw@ntlworld.com 07939 107888 or by post from 70 Cotton Lane, Runcorn, WA7 5NE

2004 Inaugural Meeting Feedback

'A race meeting at Anglesey in December? He must be crazy!' I never said that......honest!

A grand meeting, it showed what can be done without paying stupid sums in entry fees, though we had a few dramas, like my lad had his gear lever come adrift at the start of the 2nd race, steered with one hand and changed gear, eventually, by pulling and pushing the cable with the other. Still got past Steve Clegg in his F3 though. Pity we didn't make the 3rd race.
Obviously lots of hard work on your part and well worth the trip for us, thanks & hope it happens again

What a great day that was; incredible weather, superb racing

I agree with everyone elses comments, what a brilliant day, great racing and a really good atmosphere

First time I've done Anglesey !!! What a cracking day & some great racing . A lovely atmosphere & thanx to rescue crew & your xmas songs ( I haven't laughed so much in ages :-)
The club really looked after us & it was well worth the journey .I will definitely do it again

brilliant weekend thanks, some of the best racing seen all season. What a shame we got to wait another 12 months? for the next one!!!! cheers mate

Well, for all the softies that didn't come to Anglesey, you missed a cracker of a raceday!

12 races plus 45 minutes for lunch and a surprisingly mild temperature!
The Formula Ford racing was the best I have seen all season.

Ian,
The only upto 2000cc cars excluded by the MSA are "current" F3s'. Any other "upto 2000cc" cars are eligible.
I assume ride height would be free, as it is more like a Formula Libre race - a bit of winter fun - rather than the entrants being constrained by their own class's technical regs.
See you there.

Oh yes please.

I believe there are also races at Anglesey for V8 Saloons w/e 24/25 Oct. Richard Peacock is due to race an ex Mario Andretti IROC Camaro there. Info on this meeting can be obtained from the Circuit Office.

How can he have an ex-Mario Andrettii Iroc when I have that car.:-). Fact is they were built for invited drivers who drew lots for their mount for the race so not one was specifically for any one driver. I do have one I am restoring actually and it is just about ex anyone who was anyone in motorsport in the late 70's.

Jokmg aside is that the car that Gerry Marshall was driving when he passed away.

No idea Al, he's just racing it, he doesn't own it
I believe it is also ex Unser and ex somebody else American. Why don't you fetch your 'new' yellow beast up to play with him the week after next?

I just entered for Pembrey the same weekend in the Post Historics, did'nt know it was on. Anglelsey is a bit of a slap for me to be honest as is Pembrey but at least the car is built to the CTCRC regs, tyres etc so I will probably be more competitve in with them than a catch all.

Getting back to the IROC and ex this and that, I actually have video footage (Havoc series) where Al Unser is driving my biege car and Mario Andretti is driving the black one and looses it at the front of the pack and takes half the field out. My car talkes a bump in the passengers side door but nothing serious and funnyly enough there is still a bump in the roll cage door bar on that side!

I have mentioned this to Mike Newton, he is interested as the car has just been rebuilt after its destruction at the Ring in 2003.
Where do I get entry forms for Anglesey?

Isn't the V8 race the V8 Thunder series, where the cars have to run on road tyres?

And back to the race in December - can we run on slicks? - would you entertain a Thundersaloon in the race? It's got me thinking...

Any tyres you like, as long as they are black and a Thundersaloon is more than welcome.

Surely it already qualifies as a saloon, as long as it's got an MSA cage in and the lights are taped up?

Not sure why it has taken me so long to pick up on blue nose's post and Dave Brand will be disappointed that bluey won't be dropping any heavy domestic appliances onto the circuit. He is good at dropping them though, but only onto his hand

If it was that good, he would have been there. Like I was. Perhaps we will see him this time.

Incidentally, hope you will have at least one Vee, and there is also some talk on the Combe forum about this meeting. Might get a few of their Saloon and GT lot.
