My tickets have just arrived and we are in the hospitality suites next to race control overlooking the pit lane by the startline gantry - so do keep an eye out for us and say "hello".

Now I know why it cost so blinking much (but mothers are always worth it) even with a 20% discount after I explained I was a marshal and the reason for doing this - or else they were just desperate.........

First time I've ever paid to attend a GP in Britain (OK its only Friday) and my first one was Brands Hatch in 1984 - so I reckon if I divide the cost over that many years then I've got a bargain!

I'm sure all of us on Woodcote Inside will wander past and casually catch any proffered drinks/chocolate/bacon rolls

Thanks mate. I'll PM you some details so that no body else turns up pretending to be me and snaffles the bands. Do you drink lager, bitter or cider?

I have now taken the published post allocations list and rearranged it into two further lists, one showing everyone arranged by post and one showing everyone by duty. They can be found here.

UH OH - DISASTER...
Guest passes sent Recorded Delivery to my guest. Only the envelope with spare car pass arrived!!!!
Going to have to talk to Royal Mail and MSA HQ to see if anything can be done but other than that, I'm stuck for suggestions.
Probably nobody with spare passes left who'd kindly pass them on?

Hi all

Hope you all have fun, I have had to cancel marshalling at the British GP this year due to the arrival of my new daughter last week and it wouldn't be fair leaving my wife for 4 days with the 2 boys and a new baby so will be watching on TV instead.

As we seem to have abandoned the social group.....I'm still grovelling and begging an extra pass for any day if anyone has any spare!

They seem to be like rocking horse droppings this year!

Well, as in previous years I suggest yes - otherwise there will be a riot... and very few marshals

Must admit I hadn't even noticed they were missing.

Although, to be fair, the published list is POST allocations, and pits/startline aren't really posts are they.

Must stop digging this hole I'm in now before I find I can't get out....

Does anyone know if we will be provided with free ear plugs at sign on in the marquee again this year?

The General section of the Officials Information states "Ear plugs will be provided to all marshals and must be worn during Formula One track activity" Personally I always bring my own ear defenders as well and give the ear plugs to my guest.

I think we were given 1 pair at sign-on and told they were too expensive to give us one pair for each day.

Last year, as you entered the circuit, there were boxes and boxes of earplugs at the turnstiles, so hopefully you'd be able to grab some more there again this year. I think I have about 10 sets in my bag at any moment....

Final instructions say gloves will be provided - it seems to read that these gloves go from GP to GP and are therefore re-used; nice if you were in Australia, maybe not so now?
