twister9980 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Starting racing

Hi,
I am as you might guess new here. I am 14, and want to start racing, to get to somewhere around F3, or maybe higher. The thing is i don't know what to do, or how to do it, or how to get there. I need some help getting going, and was wondering if anyone here would help me????
Yours sincerely

Hi L.T best way at 14yrs is kartracing..you have to be 17yrs to drive anything over 250cc..there sould be a kart club in your area go and introduce yourself you'll find a warm welcome there..Have fun and drive carefully...

Hi Twister,
Why dont you get in touch with the MSA?? (Motor Sports Ass)
They can tell you exactly what you can do and send you information on how to get started in motorsport and how you can get a racing licence. You have to complete an ARDS course at a local race school. You could get in touch with Brands Hatch or Silverstone, they could help. I will dig out the no.....

Would be cool to do karting but the prices are just so high it's sick. In France they are about half as much as in the UK.

Hi Twister, glad you've joined us here on the forum.
I can email you a list of ARDS (approved driving schools)in the UK and also put you in touch with the MSA.
Good luck.

Hi Twister
Your nearest Kart track is at Little Rissington (beside the airfield) off the A424 about 6 miles north of Burford (about 25 miles from you). Their next race meeting is on April 7th so go along and meet some people. The best class to start in for you will be Junior TKM. Ask lots of questions and make up your own mind what you want to do.
There isn't a better way to start racing!

Hi,
Francesca; thanks for the list i will put it to use, when i have more info, and money.
ChrisD; That is close enough for me, can you tell me anything about the circuit?? I think i will be able to make it. The thing is for a class, you would have to have a kart, and clothes, the thing is we are limited in money, and dont really have enough for a kart, but we will sort something out. How do i start in a class, do you register or something?? When does the class start? are you allowed to join in after a few races if it has started? Sorry for asking you a lot of questions. One last one, if i can go, who do i speak to and what do i ask?? I know this is asking a lot but i really want to start racing.
Yours sincerely
L.T.
