Indeed they ran this scalloped front with dive planes in LMS last year:

But filled them in for Le Mans

Wow it's looking good!
When i saw it i immediately thought of the 917!

If Porsche makes a P1 it should have looked something like that!

On observation Oreca still have the 2008 rear wing on their car in that picture, The Aston Martin is such a great looking car though, it does look like a modern interpretation of the Porsche 917 though, a great looking car, looks very much like a Group C proto. The OAK racing Pesca paint scheme as well looks like a corker but its not as nice as last year White, Green and Black.

What's with the blue (or almost violet, or then its just the JPG compression) colour? Not the Gulf blue, but air intake and those stripes.

The stripes on the DBR9 also had the blue/purple outline.

Hugues De Chaunac has told Endurance-Info.com to expect a surprise addition to Oreca's driver line-up tomorrow. Sounds like it's a big name, but I may be wrong.

Tom.
I was just looking at those pics from AMR website... Seems to be same colour on DBR9 but stripes are a lot thinner. But why is the air intake in this colour? In most pics of 917 this stripe colour looks darker. But I guess Gulf representatives and whoever painted that bodywork knew the right tone. Maybe more "oldskool" adaptation than the DBR9 had.

ps. Not that this REALLY matters, even if it's the most iconic livery ever.

Maybe they want the air intake to stand out.

On DSC there is picture of the LAA Corvette with green LMS number plates and the IMSA Porsche and Modena Ferrari with yellow LMS number plates, is this a new reg for LMS?

I believe that I do remember hearing about that being new for this season. I believe that the P1 cars will have red and P2 cars will have blue. It's the same colors we've been running in the ALMS to differentiate the classes. We also have the same color scheme for the leader lights, so that will likely carry-over as well.

Cool, would prefer to have the numbers coloured like on the new Lola-Aston and how the teams ran at Le Mans 2008.

Charouz has been in 007 since the entry list was released. With Enge and Mucke.

Pegasus' car? Are they really on Avons?

I notice Luc Alphand is on Dunlop again, I presume this means they've decided to stick with them?

hmmmmmm, Some cars dont look to have changed that much, only notable difference's on some car's is the narrower rear wing's, The Oreca's look the same as last year, bar the addition and from video's of the 09 car's testing one of them having a side exit exhaust, instead of rear facing exhausts.

What's the news on the Oreca announcement tomorrow?
It might just be Solberg as one of Oreca's 2009 driver's unless they have secured someone like Gounon or Montagny which would be fantastic news.

Oreca will retain just the tub from the 2008 car, the rest will be new (although the introduction of the 2009 developments is being staggered).

As to the identity of the 5th Oreca driver at Paul Ricard, the only clues given by Hugues de Chaunac were that he was talented and that these would be his first laps in a prototype (which rules out all three of those you mentioned).
