The photographer for DailySportscar.com (sorry I don't remember your name) said he reckoned to have watched every driver in every car at every corner at every track in the sportscar world, and he could report that the driver most committed most of the time was

David Brabham...

Who, after hearing him on Radio LM, sounds like an incredibly nice bloke too... How many drivers look upon their task as their RESPONSIBILITY to their mechanics, and not the other way around?

I also really dig

Jan Lammers
Fabio Babini
Stephane Ortelli
Mark Blundell
Johnny Herbert

Certainly can't argue with any of the above! Difficult to narrow down the ones I really like, but in no particular order:

JJ Lehto (top bloke, 1995 dark wet fast)
Andy Wallace (top bloke, doing the biz for Bentley)
Ton Kristensen (top bloke, quick)
John Neilsen (top bloke, won for Jag - has own team exploits)
Stefan Johannson (top bloke, Gulf, loves it!)
Jan Lammers (top bloke, won for Jag - sets up his own team)
Johnny Herbert (top bloke, stopped Jag getting a 1-2-3 in '91)
oh and Martin Brundle when he turns up (top bloke, a talent that was designed for sportscar racing, but is wasted on TV - albeit a great commentator to boot)!

Adam,
You (very nearly)pinched my list!
JJ lehto was staggering in '95, I remember it as been top class entertainment, face value on the encientes general just wasn't enough. (equalling jaw dropping was Schumacher in '91, I watched him from the shrubbery going round the Mulsanne kink and he was mesmeric.)
Can't agree about Brundle though, and I might find a place for Win Percy, Julian Bailey, Hans Stuck (in the wet) and obviously Mr D.Bell.

As a frenchman, I will go for french pilots ( )...

- Sebastien Bourdais is my favourite (and he is fast !),
- Don't ask me why, but I like Philippe Gache, and I'm sad if he's not at the start

But not only frenchmen :
- Jan Lammers is brilliant and sympatico !
- Emmanuele Pirro too
- Eric Van de Poele has a nice hat...

Well, a lot of good pilots and nice guys at Le Mans, anyway...

Brabs is my favourite. This list is a pretty darn good one. I also love watching Ron Fellows (bet no one knew that, eh?)

In addition, how about James Weaver and Butch Leitzinger?

I must agree with Paul-collins, Ron Fellows is superb to watch, and a nice guy to boot, I try and get a conversation with him most meetings I work. (even if he did try and wipe me out 2 years ago on the Mulsanne!)

It's a shame we don't see so much of James weaver these days, seems he is not around so much since various German cars started flipping.

And as a parting shot, now I know who we were chasing out the bushes of the restricted area at the Kink - thanks for owning up bigh.

You should see him next year "over there." Dyson wants to enter the MG he's getting in a few weeks.
