If the average Mechanic at a team gets 35-50 then what do you think the drivers get, varying amounts but 150-500 can occur.Don't worry they are not getting exploited
Top engineer at TWR gets a reputed 250 and Skaife and Grech were on the telly with a new boat recently TWR had 20 mill in merchandise sales (gross) last year according to managment so even at 30% profit which is very conservative that 6 mill in profit not including sponsers so that has to trickle down to drivers.Lownes left wanting to have more control; over his future as in more of a slice of the pie apparently.

Max Wilson must be on a fair salary though, coming all the way from Brazil and CART. He worth it though , he's extremely fast

Bowe $400,000 [ozemail and PHR]

I think it was more the Briggs Team chasing Wilson than the other way around. Also any sponsorship Wilson would bring would be pojntless for an Australian series.

salaries are normally in step with the size of your team, and if your in the main series or konica, lots of us get **** money but everything is paid for.

I am under the impression that most racecar drivers, (like athletes, movie stars and senior execs) like their paycheques in US dollars? I guess this way they don't have to worry about their paycheque suddenly shrinking due to economic situations changing?

Chow, you're suggesting that the US economy isn't susceptible to fluctuating economic conditions?

Someone in the know told me that Lowndes gets $600 000p.a. I assume that's Aussie, I didn't ask.

On a recent tour of Briggs Motorsport, the leading team member who was our guide, proudly declared that each of their three drivers did not bring one penny. He said that many other teams do have spots for sale, but they do not.

Yes, he was adamant. He said that John Brigg's stated goal for developing the team was to win Bathurst and win the championship and while the money from a pay driver would be nice, it would not bring them closer to these two goals.

So how do they explain replacing Bowe with Wills?

Yes I DO APOLOGISE for that little Burst. I had just been questioned by someone whose business it was not, as to what I get paid as a Business Owner - I gave them the MYOB and cae in here to see that thread and snapped.

I do apologise- no offence was intended
