On www.rpmlive.tv on the preview for this weeks show, it says that there is some good news coming for aussie IRL fans and they are going to review the season so far. Could this mean Channel 10 is going to telecast the rest of the championship, plus the Indy 500?

Well Ch10 do have the rights for the series, but are only going to be showing the Indy 500. Better than nothing I suppose

Channel Ten will definetely be showing the Indianapolis 500, but as yet do not feel that the IRL has enough support in Australia to warrant the series being shown on free-to-air TV. It will remain on cable only...... for now.

why bother buying the rights if your only going to show one race, just do what channel 9 did lasy year, only buy the rights to the 500 if thats all you are interested in.

just if anyone is interested, the 500 is on at 1:45 am early monday morning Perth time, starts 15 mins after the F1 race ends.

so i suppose its 3:45am for east coasters

hmm it seems that the Perth coverage will be 2 hours delayed

but its still good, right after the F1 race

so in the east its 1:45am aswell

What a night, had two VCR's set up to tape the Superbikes on Foxtel, Formula One on 9 and the 500 on 10.

On channel 10's coverage, while i was thankful to even see it as it's not shown on foxtel this year, i thought the coverage was pretty poor. Who the hell were the ESPN commentator's, i only knew Larry Rice cos' he commentated for ABC last year, but it was obvious that the guy's had no pit reporters, for starter's they all had ABC logo's on them, they missed the start of pit interviews etc.... WHy couldn't Channel 10 have shown the official ABC broadcast with Paul Page & Scott Goodyear and their 4 pit reporters, channel 9 did last year.

Im not sure about optus , probably but I have Austar and they carry ESPN , but not sure who is running that company now ???

Apparently Optus have FOX Sports 1 & 2, although they are called Optus Sports 1 & 2.
