Not wishing to be morbid, but this is particularly hard to take in without any indication of the circumstances surrounding it.
I met Martin briefly at an ACO meeting last year - terrible news... Ben |

Horrible news, best wishes and sympathies to his family and friends.
Young age to go but he definitely created a lasting impression. |

RIP Martin Bartek, quite stunned, this is quite sudden. Any idea as to what happened?
I feel for his family and his friends in this hard time, although it must be said that he left his mark, thanks to him we have had the wonderful Ford GT back at Le Mans and in top sportscar racing. Thankyou Martin. |

Martin was a real gentleman. I helped sponsor his team's entry at the 24 hours of LeMans in 2010 and spent a week with him at VIR running our GT's in the driving rain with his team. Later, I spent time analyzing his business for him to help finish the season and fund the 2011 year. We'll miss him dearly.

A real shame. Deserves the utmost respect for bringing back the Ford GT re-incarnation to Le Mans last year. A beautiful car.
Hopefully Matech will continue on with his legacy and bring the Ford GT as a GT2 to Le Mans one day. RIP Martin. |

It's sad but we could see it coming, companies like Matech Concepts need to sell cars in order to survive and with FIA GT1 rules the way they are there is no market for there GT1 cars.

Not sure about the team in itself (pretty sure it didnt get a buyer) but the two cars that Belgian Racing are using this year are the two cars raced by Matech Racing last year.
