Yeeees ! But, TBH, its more a silhouette than the others. I say more because a mid engined 'Vette is no more a Corvette, mid engine 911 is no more a 911 etc… ll this reminds me the Ford GT… Anyway, I do hope this team will kick some arses!!

Yes it seems they really have left no stone unturned in their preparation for this race. This isn't just a toe in the water exercise, this is a proper serious attempt to tackle the great race. They've got a quick car, a very experienced driver lineup and a very good team behind them. The car seems reliable too. I would be very surprised if they weren't in a good position by the end

Jimmy in the 3:53 range is great to see early in practice.

The G56 Camaro is on carbon brakes.
There was a mention here the other day of wondering if they will use the dollies (surfboards/skareboards) that all other teams are using. Do we know if they are? |

Not sure it has air jacks. In the pit-stop competition the other day, they used the old school jacks to jack it up.

Did not see the airjacks but the front ride height system using lasers is rather obvious. Seems connected to the sway bar but is there another connection with springs and shocks, dunno.

lol what? You do realize the C8 roadcar is mid-engined right? Also how on earth was the Ford GT a silhouette?

I’ve just heard on the telly that they have made the rear spoiler lower.
The ACO asked them to be a little conservative. Now very happy it’s a top quality product and said they have more freedom to adjust things. Does anyone know when this happened? |

It was after test day. Hence the improvements today.

So - let's look at the difference in Top Speed between the test day and Wednesday's running. A major, but presumably not the only, difference in the car is they have chopped 2" off the massive gurney on the rear!
The simple difference in the Top Speed was 305.6km/h, today was 314.5km/h. 4.45km/h/inch Lap time Sunday: 3:53.761 Lap time Wednesday: 3:49.475 (FP) 3:47.976 (QP) 2.9s/inch The chart shows the distribution of max speed to give an idea if it was a one off or not. Most common max speed was 298.0km/h on Sunday and 304.7km/h on Wednesday. Not quite as dramatic, but still a big improvement (3.35km/h/inch) |

Driver Comparison
It has been mentioned in today's chat. How are the NASCAR champion, the F1 Champion and the Le Mans Winner comparing so far. Before that I would just like to say so what?! These guys are a team and they are all having fun. They all win. And win big. Legends, all. Average Lap time
Jimmie has done the most running and looked pretty consistent. Mike had the speed, but got least representative laps in. FP1: Jenson and Mike ran QP: Mike only FP2: Jenson, Mike and Jimmie |

The organisation asking to be more conservative? Is it a kind of BoP? Certainly they are surprised to see how good and fast the car is but they should not. Surprised by the Top15 of Mike (4'48") tho. The Top10 comparison clearly shows how consistent they are. |

May be just a little bit more training during the driver change, they are not used to this homologated seat and belts. See at 0"27, JJ in the pits "adjusting" the shoulder straps but further probably opening the buckle something I don't think he's allowed to do before complete stop:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct5PO7Hlfy8
Transparent adjustable addition to the Gurney more visible here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVFaoWoiQ_k And on the top of the rear window too… |

Jenson didn’t have 15 proper flyers either. Only need a slow zone of something to ruin his average. |

Well, it looks like Chevrolet will be offering a "Le Mans" edition of the Camaro. Sounds like a trim option w/ performance engine and powertrain, along with body add-ons and special interior. Cool.

After watching several onboards with Rocky, he has to break the draft on a LMP2 to let them get away.
They are disappointingly shifting at 8k rpm however. |
