That's bad news Let's hope there will be 18 cars when the deadline must be met.

Thanks Jose - to you, Dany and everyone else:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I'm surprised BCN are quitting, as only last month Jaime Pintanel spoke of running three cars if required to help keep F3000 alive. It sounded as though they had a long term plan and were looking forward to F2.

Agreed, and unfortunately I can't find their email to ask them about this myself....

This is quite 'out of nowhere', and it's a shame, although they were never a well funded team, proving largely reliant on interloping pay-drivers. Still, it's 2 less cars, which isn't good news when the whole F3000 series is on a tightrope.

RIP BCN

there is an excellent web call 100x100motor.com this is an only spanish web and there are all people in the bussines in spanish motorsports.
normally there are impacting news one week, either one month before become official news... about world series, spanish f3, and of course BCN because is a spanish team.
the bcn close was put first time one month ago... and the last week it appears again very strong... and the font is very reliable because other news he put. this font said bcn unenployed all his employes, and only the secrerary of the team was in office.

if bcn denies it fantastic, is not a secret that they want really have a spanish driver in the line up. and of coruse is a goal for spanish motorsport have a formula 3000 team, as is a goal have the world series.

topic name: BCN cierra puertas
post nick name: BOX
open post date: martes, 25 de noviembre
time: 8:51 pm
message: De Momento ya han cerrado puertas. Se comentaba que la temporada que viene podrÃ*an salir con 3 coches, pero nada más lejos de la realidad. Han cerrado puertas y han liquidado los contratos (¿?) con los técnicos.

this was my font. no more fonts.

by the way: my reaction the same day i open this topic (the second request in this topic): "hi dear Jon, of course i hope the same... and badly this was the only spanish team... so for me is double lost."

BCN issued a press release yesterday saying they would be officially announcing their 2004 drivers in three weeks - not the actions of a team which is closed.

Okay, I guess that's the end of that. Good news in the end. I suppose we can redirect the conversation towards speculation as to who teh drivers might be?
