Graham,
Nothing on the 24 Hours yet but Christian tells me the "Classics" is 12th & 13th July. Do you indeed doing that meeting? Christian, Michael, Eddie and I will be there and may be asked, as in '06, to move posts due to overmanning on 100. Need to know asap as the Corbins arrange the sleeping accomodation on post.

O K so I was wrong again !

My invitation arrived this very morning for Les 24 Heures du Mans, and also for Le Mans Classic.

Well done ACO, is this a new record; 6 months before the event?

Our only delivery of the day comes in between 9am & 6pm now.

Or is it that yours come late & it appears to be a 2nd delivery

What's worse, mine arrived on Friday.... and I can't go!!! Trying to remember the polite French form for "Terribly sorry but cannot make it this year due to family issues, but plan to be there in '09, come h-e-double hockeysticks or high water".

sniffle,
keke

PS. It's not an addiction, really. I can quit Le Mans anytime I want. Truly. (Gypsy, this is all your fault.)

But with Sebring, Long Beach and Road America you will still get your share of the cars

I quit once - while the kids were small.

Well.. a gripe about the french postal system!!

After carefully voluntering for Le Mans at the end of last year and making sure i would be home round the dates, i have only just received the application form ie on saturday which is now of no use due to the return date being the 3rd of march.. thanks goes to the postmanwho must have lost it in france since it was posted on the 19 of feb.

Ooh that's nasty, but I'd chance my arm and fax it back today & if possible try and add a note in French blaming the post. Do not however blame the French postal system specifically. Use babelfish for simple phrases if you don't do French.
Also you could email Martine DANET who handles the marshals paperwork. It is only one week late.

contact number etc at

Good luck.

Whey hey!!!! Official letter of invite and acceptance received in the post today.

I know who's there from poste 106, who else is going and on what post? Maybe we can plan a gathering somewhere during the week!

Hey - I reckon the (Brit) commissaires could have a get together down at Indianapolis corner on Friday - the general public will probably be banned again. Dunno about being able to get our cars in?

Keeps the riff raff (including marshals playing at being speccies) out (JB - that means you)

Downside, it'll probably hack off the gendarmarie. Not good start to weekend.
Somebody else can think of meetup plan 2

Poste 0 again for me.

A small change to sign on routine, but it should ease the (Jacobins) parking hassle.

Decisions, decisions. Whether to walk 600 metres to vist Steve (and Bernard) @ 106 or head 400 metres in the other direction to 96 for a visit. I'm @ 100 so anyone who wants to drop by, feel free.
All have a safe and enjoyable race

Don't be daft, Roland's kept under lock and key on the other side of the track.

Anyway, C9/89 now knows better

If he's really bad this year, we'll set one of the Czech bouncers on him
