Lieb very likely has a long career with Porsche, past active racing. I think Porsche has invested heavily in him too, and won't want to let him wander off... |

I'll have to see it to believe it. Porsche must feel Lotterer is better than someone from their 2015 LM winning car. Either way, it seems he'll at least be in the wec again next year. Not being paid by Super Formula seems like a stretch considering what Kazuki Nakajima said in that recent interview (it's in the 2016 super gt thread).

It's looking likely that only Hulkenburg will not being driving full-time for Porsche next year, and that wasn't going to happen anyway. |

Porsche already obviously feel that the 2016 drivers are better than the 2015 Le Mans winners, otherwise they'd have put Tandy and Bamber in the 919 at the expense of someone else.
Lotterrer might be the best driver on the WEC grid right now. If he isn't, he's certainly in the top 5. Grabbing him is as much about not allowing Toyota to have him as it is having him in a Porsche. |

Is there a new livery similary to 911 in the 919 2017?
Will be very similar to Toyota http://www.endurance-info.com/fr/bah...tin-en-bref-3/ |

Congratulations to #2 for the Drivers Title. An interesting factoid is that the #2 was the only LMP1 not to have spent a single second inside the box with technical problems during the 2016 races.

That would suggest that endurance does matter in this championship. That is a very good performance.

The #2 Porsche has been the turtle of the championship, the hares had accidents or mechanical problems.
I don't like the double points to Le Mans, that race is already important enough. Is Porsche planning a new car for the 2017-18 timeframe? O will they just upgrade the existing car? |

Sadly, that this does mean that the #2 Porsche team won with the fewest number of podiums in the history of the WEC. Certainly not a very exciting way to win a championship. Also, Porsche were the only team all season long to not get both their cars on the podium in a single race. That's a very odd fact given how fast the #1 Porsche was all season long.

What really helped Porsche #2 was not having any retirements this year. Congratulations to them anyways, they deserve the championship.

Yet, if one or two of the front running teams won the races that they DNF'd in, the #2 Porsche would've been vulnerable. Seeing the pace that the #1 had all season, either the guys in the #2 were really stroking it/sandbagging, or they were genuinely off the pace. If the latter, I don't see a good excuse aside from them just not being fast enough.
Hence the rumor of one or likely two of them being "demoted"/re-assigned to the GTE program, probably Leib (who Porsche would want for his GT successes and engineering background), and Dumas, who simply hasn't really impressed this year. Jani, being probably the fastest Porsche LMP1 driver period (when the car is working right) is going nowhere if he's teamed with equally fast drivers. |

Andre and Fernando both at Porsches in the near future ...
I think I'm going to have to become a Porsche fan. |

I don't think Alonso will come to LMP1,or at least not in full seat.I don't see who will be replacing,of course if Lotterer contract its not one year only. And to be honest i don't see Alonso as a team player but this is my personal opinion!

Fred has expressed a desire to LM before, as far back as 09, would love to see him do it, I think it would suit him

Stoffel Vandoorne said Alonso was a great teamplayer, when he did one race to replace him. He stuck around, offered advise and helped where he could while he could easily have gone home instead.

I think Alonso meant joining the wec in general when he said "wait for me there".
