I know there's possibly a prediction competition coming nearer the race but what are people expecting in terms of pole/fastest lap pace this year?

I wonder how low into the 3:20's they can get and whether they can edge out the best times from last year (3.22.349 qualy Duval / 3.22.746 race Lotterer)?

Depends on what top speeds they can reach. I assume all three cars will be slower in the Porsche curves compared to previous years (with Audi fastest), but if any of them can reach 340-5 km/h that deficit will be wiped out. With good conditions, I expect a high 3:20 pole time and a low 3:21 fastest lap. Which will no doubt please the ACO with their target average lap time of 3:30!

Slightly off-topic: Last year's qualifying was strange, it always seemed like the 2013 R18 could go sub 3:22 but no driver could hook up all the sectors.

According to Endurance-Info, the "grand marshal" for Le Mans (the person to wave the green for the formation lap at least) will be Allan McNish. No word on whether he'll also wave the tricolore at 3pm.
