The FCY is messing up the whole LMP3 race.
Does it really have to take THAT long?

EDIT: it is now offering free pitstops in LMP2 too

What was this FCY for? I wouldn't mind, but the clean-up was done ages ago.

To clean up the tire debris from #21.
No idea why it took 36 years.

Correa instead of Colombo is not really an upgrade for Prema.

It was always the intended team though. Correa's continuing recovery meant Colombo had to fill in until Correa was ready to drive.

Hopefully Colombo/Prema know that if Colombo wants to, he has the speed tfor a solid career in sportscars.

I know that, but Colombo was just faster.
I am not sure I would put Correa in now, while Prema is fighting for a championship.

Maybe I would put Correa and 2 other drivers in at Portimao if they'd clinch the championship today.
(That way all 3 would be champion)

I doubt they had a choice with regards to Correa's contract, unless they wanted a legal wrangle that would, at the very least, take the focus off the title fight they were making the change for.

Looks like a clear run for #22, unless something comes from the steward's visit and/or Deletraz can conjure some of last year's form.

Edit - Pit battle between #65 & #9, positions maintained. Looks like everyone will need a late stop, although #37 will need a lap less fuel.

Overtaking before the start line is now only a 5 second penalty at the next pit stop?

We've seen other penalties for that in the past, I think?

And we have another FCY that will probably take 7 laps or so?

Presumably UA managed to argue it down, based on the dicing #22 and #37 were having into the bus stop.

In their position, I would have taken the time in the pit stop, if it's allowed under FCY. They have a big enough lead regardless.

Edit - #65 pits just as the FCY ends. Surely that wasn't the plan.

Not allowed to take the penalty under FCY - they had time added post race

2023 entry list has dropped: https://storage.googleapis.com/doc-p..._YpIVw-O78.pdf

A few "super teams" have departed but some really good strength in depth and a few names still to be added. Don't think it's beyond the realms that a Pro-Am car can get a race win.

Pretty interested to see how Marino Sato goes. Was consistently down the back in F2 but if he can be solid then maybe UA are title favourites? Quite hard to call.

No connection to Takuma apparently. But name surely doesn't hurt either!

Sato is an extremely common surname, so wouldn't really help or hinder in this case.
But it will be interesting to see how he goes. It's rare that United Autosport choose a duffer, but his career so far hasn't been scintillating.

Kimiya Sato was in Super GT in 2022, in the GT300 class.
And there's currently a Ren Sato in Super Formula.

While there might be a select number of viable options, it'll probably end up with the outcome few are hoping for - a double header @ Paul Ricard.

Some Asian Le Mans Series vibes to end the season with the double header.

You've gotta feel for the teams and drivers doing Le Mans, losing a whole race meeting prior to the event. It's not like you can just stick an entry in for the Spa WEC round these days for extra race practice.

That's a good point

https://twitter.com/davidperel/statu...j5J3tJWbw&s=19

I wonder if the series or a few of the teams might arrange a test day instead.
