24hr 2CV race Snetterton

Hi all,
A PLEA FOR ALL MARSHALS OF ALL GRADES AND DICIPLINES.
The 24hr 2CV race and support races at Snetterton on 18th, 19, 20th June is very short of marshals and requires alot more than they have already for this meeting. So if you fancy marshalling a 24hr race to see what it is like or a kind of taster for Le Mans or Nurburgring then come to Snett and marshal this event.Even if you can only spare a few hours and cant do the whole event you'r services would still be welcome.
You can contact BARC HQ, or Chris Bird 01622 745104, or pm me and I will pass on your details.
Please support this event.
Regards,
Richard Sneader.

Please volunteer for some of this meeting at least - not fancying covering a large proportion of Snetterton by myself, as it's not one of my more familiar circuits

If last year is anything to go by, the racing action for the whole 24hrs is great - the atmosphere in the paddock is great with teams lending each other engines etc! I hope to be back this year

Wouldnt miss this weekend, one of the best meetings last year Shall finally be getting the probans on after many months of no use! (not due to laziness I would add, just health issues) decided a dose of watching a bunch of nutters going hell for leather for 24 hrs solid is just what I need! Last year I ended up doing Revett Straight on my own from midnight to 4.30 AND loved it, those boys slipstreamed all night, great entertainment!

Marshal, if you're interested there are some details on www.snet24.co.uk, I know that the marshalls get some freebies.

We do really slip stream all night (the girls as well as the boys - snetmarshal ;-) ) often 3 to 5 abreast down the revett straight. It would be good to see a lot of you there, and we'll all be really nice to you when you come round to the pit garages to talk to us in your breaks.

:-)

I am hoping that MSV will relax their rules about "no marshal entry after start of first race" for this one.
If there is anyone out there who still has to volunteer (even if its for one shift" please do so soon.

Hi Pixie,
Of course motorcycle marshals are welcome, if you pm me I will give you more details and also if you give me your details I will pass them on to the relavent Chief Marshal. There are differances but thats the fun of it all working together learning each others ways.

Richard - have PM'd you as I'm very interested in joining in, and its about time I got another signature on my license.
Presume it won't be quite as wet and muddy as the BLMRA 12 Hours?

The paperwork is out and we have a few more marshals than last year. The real plus is that more are there for Sat & Sun so there should be less posts with only one on.
Still time for more volunteers.
I am working on the rota for marshals on the bank so don't worry if it looks like you may not on the shift with your friends, I will sort it out with Mike Whitney and the other chiefs.

Got the paperweork last night, and I have to say I'm not impressed. I appreciate that the organisers need more than just the 24 hour race to fill in the track time, but I'd still like to know what clown wrote the timetable. Effectively a full days racing, then a 2 hour break (assuming all goes to plan), and THEN a 24-hour race. Even if there are enough people to cobble together some sort of rota system, it still means being on duty for . How do they expect people to be awake and alert come 2 0r 3pm on Sunday????

Peter, should I have had the details through by now? I only ask as any post getting delivered in Norwich seems to be done when they feel like. Ie nothing for days, then you can't open the door for the amount sitting on door mat!. I will be at snet this weekend, so can pick up there is saves you postage.

I got the info/tickets yesterday. Your name wasn't on the list but I have assumed you will be there when I sorted out allocations as Elaine said you are coming. Please phone Paul Phillips to volunteer on 0208 854 6945 and he will send tickets.
