2000 was on DVD. It was excellent.

I think that 2001 was, but only if you bought the Playstation game that it came free with

No idea about 2002, did they bother with a video

You'd think that the technological, digital F1 would bother, but no! And when will they release the old seasons remastered on DVD? On the basis that would be amazing I doubt they ever will. You've made me all cynical now!

True, and they should have the original commentary too. I got the World Superbike 2002 DVD and that has the race highlights with the original commentators.

So what seasons would you get if they came out on DVD? I would get 1991 (Senna Vs Mansell for the WDC) and 1993 (Veteran Senna and young Schumacher duking it out with Prost and Hill in the Williams). I'd also buy 1976 too (Probably the most exciting season ever - Hunt Vs Lauda).

I think there's even less chance than normal of getting a DVD this year, as the 2000 interactive DVD was interactive thanks to the Bakersville (F1 Digital +) feed, which this year obviously didn't happen!
There'll definitely be a video though, there always is.

Considering it costs them 80% less, and 99% less in time to produce a DVD over a VHS tape, you'd think they'd only release them on DVD.

I'll only buy them if they come out on DVD, VHS will be a dead format within 2 years.

I would buy a Schumacher greatest hits DVD. I wouldn't be surprised if Willi Webber hand't thought of something along those lines.

i saw the 2001 DVD for sale with out the lamestation game, and i noticed it that it was almost 6 hours (!!) long, a far cry from the 1992 style races video:

"Race, ready...set...gooandmansellhaswonit!
and on to round two of the 1992 grandprix..."

I bought that one but it's only so long because you can watch every GP's review from 4 different angles.Timinings included (you can watch the time-table without the picture).

I have the 2000 disc and I loved it. I was wishing for it to continue but it didn't. I wasn't sure about the F1-2001 game, whether it included the 2000 season or the 2001 season. But obviously it was the 2001 disc.

Do you know if it is sold anywhere now? I would gladly buy the playstation game with it!

No, but browsing through my local Game's preowned section, I saw a lot of F12002 Games that were conspiuously DVD-less

Either that game wasn't too good, or wasn't different enough from 2001 to justify keeping the "Bonus" game without the DVD!

Still, good news about the DVD...can't wait!

*Wonders if we'll get any extras*

the 2001 dvd is surprisingly a lot less interesting that the vhs.

On the VHS there is radio snippets like when Fischella screwed up his grid position and was stranded in the middle of the track at Kula Lumpor. And when Montoya is ordered into the pits cus there was a deer on the track at Austrian practice.

These are left out of the Dvd. Although there's no annoying drama music and Ben Edwards does commentary (Yeah!)

I would buy DVDs to replace the ones I have on VHS - 85, 86, 89 and 93.

If anyone's interested, there are also VHS and DVD's available for FFord and F3 this year...

Ooooh....My local Virgin AND HMV have just put in Motorsport locater cards in the Sport DVD section....it was looking a little bare though with just Murray's Greatest DVD Thingy and Motorcross' Greatest Smashes....

Looks like they'll be getting a bit fuller soon enough then!
