R. Schumacher not to race at Italy
Just read this at F1-live.com
The BMW WilliamsF1 Team today confirmed that Ralf Schumacher will not take part in the forthcoming Monza test, and as a consequence, the Italian Grand Prix on September 12, 2004. Ralf’s recuperation continues well, and the German driver is expected to test after the Italian Grand Prix. Ralf’s position in Italy will again be filled by Antonio Pizzonia, who performed strongly at the Belgian Grand Prix before being denied a podium finish by a mechanical failure. Looks like Pizzonia will get another crack to show the world what he is capable of. Last edited by 006_007; 31 Aug 2004 at 18:48. |

It's probably best that he doesn't rush it - even 9 weeks isn't long after a spinal injury.
On top of that, it's beneficial for Williams to have Pizzonia in the car, because he is better placed to help the team learn for next year. Judging by his race performances so far, he's on equal form to what Ralf was showing pre-US. |

Motivation helps. Ralf's got nothing to prove if he gets back in that car. It's probably best for Williams that Pizzonia does drive for the rest of the year.
It'd be a shame for him not to be driving for Williams for his home race. |

More Pizza in Monza
Ralf's test has been ruled out by his doctors again. So yeah, that's another chance for Pizzonia

If the rumours about his insurance are true, he might miss China and Japan as well. But I prefer to believe it's all down to his doctors and his health.
Can't wait to see Montoya Vs Pizza again! |

Funny how up until Sunday night Ralf was set to return at a Monza test, but since Pizzaboy showed so well at Spa, the decision has been reversed........ dont you love how obvious F1 politics are
IMHO Ralf wont be back with Williams in 2004. |

Hopefully Jenson will stay at BAR with the renewed BAT offer and Pizzonia can finally prove to the world just how good he is. I do feel sorry Ralf is not in the car but can't help feeling Williams don't mind to much right now.

Probably a combination of Ralf not fully fit and Pizza doing so well...
no doubt Pizza deserves another go.. no need rushing RS as well with Pizza going so well! |

Sir Francis Williams says Ralfred passed the medical, but the insurance situation specified a 12-week recovery period.
