SBR to debut BA tomorrow at QR!!

Just reading the official V8Supercar website www.v8supercar.com.au where it says the Stone Brothers Racing will debut the Pirtek BA racecar at Queensland Raceway tomorrow after 12 noon. Both Marcos Ambrose and Russell Ingall will be driving the car. It's been awhile but finally we get to see the first project Blueprint car on track.

Is there any way of finding out about up-coming test days booked at a circuit?

Is it OK to call the circuit office and will they advise of dates or is that confidential? It would be great to know in advance. Thanks for your help, anyone.

You can ask Mattracer and bluff your way as a member of Ford, or the team testing and the like, but the ARDC are not forthcoming with info about Eastern Creek unless you create your own magic.....

It's just that fruitless trips to a deserted circuit mid-week becomes less appealing if you get more "misses' than "hits", if you take my meaning.

I do agree

The easiest way for me to do that is at Eastern Creek to watch and see what transporters are parked in the infield...

I drive round the complex most days, the gorgeous garbage tip and the race circuit and can see who is testing, recognisable from the race truck....

They were hoping to have the BA there today, otherwise just the AU.

No chance. It's time for the 'Enforcer' to show some muscle.

Was just on Ten news, I'm guessing they haven't come up with the Pirtek livery yet. The car was blue, had Pirtek down the side with the odd red stripe, and bore the number 9. Ambrose was pictured at the wheel, but I don't know whether Ingall had a steer or not.

Nope, Ingall had a few drives at the end of the day.

But what a deadset ****er! Punters were rocking up at 8am expecting to see a racing car on the track... waiting waiting waiting... nothing turns up until 2pm! Jury still out on the colour scheme, it wasn't pretty, but at least the car looks much better than the AU.

Also, jury still out on Mark Winterbottom. He'll get there in time.

Crash I know of a L1 Supercar team that had 2 cars at a particular race circuit for a test, had seven hours of open track time available and were lucky to finish 60 laps of track time between the 2 vehicles!!

So unless an average lap time is around 14 minutes a pop, I would suggest the scenario I described is a waste of a test day too

They had an all-in test at QR in 99 when the circuit had only just begun. Great value and interspersed throughout a club meeting as I remember.

The EC mega test fell over and it is a shame- a good day out it would have been. AVESCO, more please.
