When you've got Accolade's Grand Prix Circuit (1988). I mean. Look at the graphics!! That 16....color display is really something and the PC speaker sound....Mhhh...I wonder...if Jaques Villeneuve used GP2 to practice.....was this was Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost used??
Mhhh....Mclaren. By far the best of the 3 cars that were available. (tthe others were Williams and Ferrari) The start at the race at monaco. I am the winner!! Take that Bruno Guordo! He he he....of course I want Gp3.....but this images sure bring back memories of the good old days with my green display PC. |

I still have that game lying around somewhere, Sharky.
I remember spending hour after hour with it, wondering if things could get any better. Those fabulous graphics, that wonderful sound and the intelligent gameplay. At least, that's what I thought then. Compared to the games we play now, you can only laugh. But I have good memories of it. It gave me a lot of fun and sleepless nights. (Well, nothing has changed). |

He he he. I knew somebody else would remember that game. I used to play it on my first PC that was an 8Mhz 8086 with amazing 640Kb of ram, a huge HD of 20Mb and one floppy drive for low density 5'25 disks and my trusty old green display monochrome monitor that irritated the eyes. I had an Hercules video card but I bought a CGA...I guess that back in those days it was like going from a 2D card to a 3D card.
Back in those days I didn't know how many laps did each race have so to run full race I ran 99 laps....I guess that's a little more than what it was supposed to be. But this was all I played...oh and Test Drive of course. Then I bought my 386....and Doom came.....and well...that's a different story. Oh...and about GP3 MF. I have seen some screenshots and DAMN!!! I mean, I still play GP2 a lot as I still haven't found a game that matrches it in its complexity despite the outdated graphics....but after seeing those screenshots...AN THE WEATHER!!! I want it now!! BTW. Check out this site http://www.alphaf1.com/gp3/ |

Same here. I have completely customized GP2 so that it has everything for the 2000 season. 2000 tracks, cars, maps, cockpit, sounds, everything! I have tried to replicate wet weather too. I still play it almost every day.
Come on GP3! I am getting a new computer just for it. |

Lee. You need to download an application that let's you run GP2 without the CD. Then copy the circuits directory from the CD to your HD without a 200+ MB file that over there somewhere. And then you just follow the instructions in the readme of every track. In the link I posted above you can find the program for running it with no cd and also a lot on info on the subject...plus a lot of tracks and carsets.

Niel, it is a bit of work to do what I have done.
Cars are no problem with GP2 Edit Tracks are no problem with a track handling program Trackmaps are kind of tricky, but are not too much trouble with a program called WinHiPic that can be downloaded from http://www.grandprix2.com . Some nice maps were made by a guy named Juha Viitala. They look just like the originals. That's what I do when I am bored in the off-season. |
