PaulPerkins should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Winter series

Having not really followed club-level motorsport until I started marshalling a couple of years ago, I'm interested to know what (if any) winter series take place during the off-season.

This year has been pretty quiet for me, so I'm not really ready to hang up my oranges in a few weeks! (Plus, if the truth be known, I'm keen to escape the inevitable DIY chores )

So, what's available over the winter, and are weekend marshals required? Or is it all mid-week testing and track days?

Ta.

Paul.

Well there's a F Renault winter series just been announced (Croft + Donington). Several circuits (BH, Silvers, Snett, Rockingham) have mtgs in Nov, but by Dec things are getting quieter and you may have to do some DIY !

Snetterton has a winter warmer race on the 9th November and the 2nd round will be at Brands on the 23rd November. There is also rally cross at Brands on the 16th November and a charity weekend at Snet on 22/23rd November. After that I hang up my overalls until training days in February.

There's usually the Plum Pudding race at Mallory (Dec 26) to get you out over xmas (I've even done it myself a couple of times), but have heard this may be bikes only this year?

You could venture out into the forests for a spot of rallying
Regular events held in North Wales & the Lake District over the winter months

Yes, it is bikes only this year; a chance for all you four-wheel-only marshals to see some real racing!

Just a reminder that the BRSCC have an extra date at Mallory on Nov 2nd that wasn't included on the original volunteering sheets.

December 27th has rallycross at Lydden along with the stock rod/stock hatch challenge. Hopefully not as cold as the one in February.

The bike meeting at Mallory is a good event, riders sometimes dress up as reindeers, or father christmas (in some cases mother christmas!!).
Your could also try a kart meeting, Whilton Mill have an event on 22nd/23rd November and Shenington have a meeting on 6th/7th December.
We tend to use the break in January/February to go on holiday as it is the only time of the year when we have nothing on. Although we have to try and fit it in between Barc dinner dance, Autosport, training days, etc, then the season starts again in earnest.
