Nordic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
BMW M3

Whats the future for the M3 at Le Mans, it hardly set the track alight this year and with the revisons to the DTM its almost certain to return to that.

Will BMW carry on with the GT2 program?

I hope it does carry one, but maybe as a supplier of stock engines, or maybe a proper sports car not a tourer.

btw did anyone else notice the 3rd M3? what looked like a spare white car was parked up in the dead car area under covers, all numbered up. Near the end of the race the covers came off and caused much surprise as the car had just gone by!

The Art car looked great but as already said before the performance of the Beemer was dissapointing and the sound of the car was nothing special.

I'm pretty sure BMW has said they are focused on their sportscar program, esp. now that they are out of F1. I imagine we'll see the M3 in racing for quite a while, or at least some version of an M car (M1 maybe? [the new 1 series based M1, not the old iconic one])

The ALMS version of the car is very competitive with the Corvette. Had they been allowed to run the car they have been developing there (which is the same at the N24 car) they would have been more competitive. The ACO is requiring them to make modifications to the aero and the rear suspension, plus they added restriction to the engine before LeMans. Since the car hasn't dominated any of the LMS races, I don't understand that, but the ACO made the decision to take some power away. I think it's all about BMW playing the game with the ACO to develop the car, run it, establish how far off they are and then be allowed to make adjustments. How long that will go on remains to be seen. Knowing BMW, I'm sure they will get there eventually.

I don't know who else was at scrutineering, but I did manage to get a shot which perhaps sheds some light on the loss of power and straight-line speed......

The style of these BMW belongs to the tradition ; and I'd like to see one or two 3.0 CSL at LM Classic.
Ayse, think you are lucky for having seen the last M1 in 1986 !

I believe Eric's shopping is on the other side of that cavernous boot (from Auchan, Leclerc, Super U and Carrefour). That must be Andy Priaulx's shopping, picked up en route from the UK.

No wonder the Art Car broke down so early. By the time the race had started they had already been in the UK and back to buy some of Tescos pasta meals!

Who says they'll be going shopping in a supermarket necessarily? Throw away all the Carrefour bags and you might find some trophies there... while the ACO finds a broken glass sheet on their trophy cabinet.

BTW, that could very well happen this year, I personally would not mind if they won their class this year, but it will be hard against those bloody fast Ferraris.
