You can check the official website, it's a bit tricky because it's in portugese, but they have nice pictures:

Ehehehe, I was there:

Much, much better track than the Boavista one in Oporto (then again, I might be biased, but that was the generel feeling after the return to the racing at Vila Real).

However, for the time being, no WTCC (fortunately, I much rather see there the local races, than the FIA/KSO Empire around there destroying the track).

I like it, especially this part of the circuit:

Looks like a rally.

That part of the track is the only surviving one, from the old circuit that didn't have triple armco barriers and catch fences in it

BTW: IMHO, really bad choice of words for the topic title... it seems that there are people doing street racing there (well, it's not the Vasco da Gama bridge in Lisbon... )

Yes, a TWR built one with a very closed paint scheme to The eighties. Just ban that actual sponsor!

Vila Real could have an ETCS (an Italian endurance series) race in 2008.

Nice photos Gil! Sorry if my thread title might have a different meaning to non-motorsport fans Hope to be there next year.

A proper track, instead of that pile of s**** at Oporto

BTW: 2 videos from the BMW 320iS Trophy (yes, they sold the 320iS in Italy AND Portugal), in the old track:

Vila Real is fantastic and better than Porto, but Porto is no piece of s*** its a great track as well, far better than Estoril by miles

Well, Estoril is not exactly great, as once was (stupid F1Mania destroyed it ), but Boavista is neither that good.

Too narrow, no places for overtaking... But it suits great those WTCC boring fests
