IMSA Race 2023 Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring

What was up with #52. Letting the pace car back past and then just got going again.

Race control noted he was going slowly from turn 11. But nothing else.

Why?

Basically all the GTDPROs ahead of the GTDs. I guess the GTDs have all had their AMs in.

Seriously what is the point. All 8 GTP cars are on the same lap after 5 hours. Where is the endurance factor? All of these safety cars ruin it. No wonder I was more into the WEC Friday race. That was more authentic. The IMSA safety car procedures make this a joke. 11.5 hours of a parade at speed (and often not) and 30 minutes of real racing with the announcers saying at the end how its the greatest thing in history. Its old.

I hope others notice this too. My favorite endurance race for many good reasons is the Nurburgring 24 hours.

Went and got some sun and exercise with a 12 mile bike ride. What had happened in the last 1.5 hrs? P3 off and one long FCY is my guess.

100% Agree. Sadly, it's the nascar effect.

To put it bluntly, this lucky dog and wave by stuff ought to be abolished immediately. I don't care about teams getting upset because they can get a lap back or were caught behind a safety car at a bad time.....that is your fault and your problem to solve. Maybe you should drive faster so you don't get lapped? Either that, or leave the pits open at all times unless there is a genuine cause to close it.

The talk round here dried up for ages because there was 2h24m of green flag running. Which just isn’t what people want to talk about.

#10 it really did work out well for them. How will the tires last now.
#3 and #79 still close.
#36 set fastest LMP3 time a few minutes ago and leads the class.

And the beer is a simple one “easy-drinking”. My better beers are more serious and I’m not in the mood yet.
