Good point, let's hope it is ready. What do we know of the construction? Is it more than just earth left over from the roundabout?
Why couldn't they make it more solid and build a proper viewing place, perhaps like at the start-finish? Is it economic, environment, maintenance?

Which campsite/mound are we talking about here?

I'm thinking the one on the opposite side, on the outside of Porsche Curves.
The inside was available in 2015 and the only changes there was added fencing, where the outside was were a new gravel trap was made and a new mound erected.

Ah, OK I get it.
So is the one on the inside public viewing? I guess it is mainly used by those in that campsite.

It is, and quite good, if you are willing to do the walk.
I have marked all viewing spots on this map:

Yes this camp site was hired by the ACO but nobody was allowed to get on the mound I mentioned. And possibly the ACO made this part private to prevent it from the crowd.

As far as I'm aware, the tour operator that runs that campsite mentioned on Radio Le Mans (they are associated with them) that the banking on the outside of the Porsche Curves should be open again to the public in 2016.

Not all of these track changes have been quite so bad then - maybe we could change the smiley in the thread title to something a little less angry.

If anyones at the circuit, or watching from TV the 24 Hour Le Mans Motorcycle race that's happening this weekend, feel free to report if there have been any visible changes in the part of the LM24 track the Bugatti covers. Also if the new four garages look to be complete in the pit area?

Btw never realized they are using the copycat logo for that event too!

They're both ACO sanctioned events, after all (as well as the WEC itself).

I know that, but it doesn't make sense to me to use the same logo, also since FIM still controls the series that race is part of

Copycat logo or brand reinforcement? I guess it's a question of perspective...

The logical chain of 'Le Mans' - 'Automotive' - '24 Hours' - 'image' makes sense to me - but maybe not to others. This I suppose is why marketing is ultimately art rather than science.

Be interesting to see what's happening re the new garages, and indeed if there are any signs of the bikers lobbying for more fiddling about with the track.

Did the bikes used to run the Sarthe Circuit, or have they traditionally run the Bugatti/Moto GP circuit?

No-one ever uses Sarthe except the LM24 sportscars, and Classic.

Thanks for the updates Eric. I suspect that the view now available from Indianapolis back down the track towards Mulsanne will be very popular. Sterile? Yes, a little, but I'm sure it will improve once the vegetation has had a chance to grow a little.

I'm intrigued to know what's left of the viewing area at Arnage and how they will seal the new road off from the track.

This is why I think it's worrying : no grass, no spectators for 2016, because of a risk of erosion.
I hope I'm wrong.
