Caravan facilities at Anglesey

Hi guys,

I'm sure that this has been covered before, but I can't find it with a search so probably buried in a totally unrelated thread

What (if any) are the caravan facilities like at Anglesey? We've been a few times before, but we've never been in our "own accommodation".

I know there's a shower block in any case - but if you're in a caravan, are there power/water supplies available? How do you book them? Toilet disposal? When can you arrive/leave?

Bear in mind we're caravan newbies, so any advice appreciated!

You dont need to book a slot, just turn up. Marshals camping is on the grassed are behind the bar (Grass area on your right after you enter the circuit) Depends on how early you get there for a hook up. There are a number of points where you can hook up. As for water the only direct hook up is in the centre of the paddock but that is for the competitors. Plenty of stand pipes for filling up water containers though. Chemical disposal is available by the shower block. If you need to stay over till the Monday morning then that is normally OK, just requires a quick word to the circuit staff to check.

If you are thinking of attending the BARC legends meeting in July i will be there from Thursday evening

Caravan advice.

One thing I would suggest if you take your caravan, is to ensure you've got lots of levelers / bits of wood, as the grassed area mentioned is not flat.
Also a 2nd power lead along with a 13amp plug adapter may be useful so that powerring up from a far flung socket would be possible.

thanks Steve, that seems to have covered most of the regular questions.

Does the bar do much in the way of food? A place to eat is another common question.

The bar does do a selection of food in the evening, and breakfast is available.

There is an excellent chippie in Rhosneigr, but it closes early (about 8 p.m.) and there's always a long queue. A good tip is to sit in the cafe part. Customers there get priority for fish, etc.

Steve, Post 2 is now used for car meetings and 1A isn't any more. I would update the map but I'm not that technically advanced.

Not sure how to update the map but there is also now a crossing point between the start of the pit entrance / assembly area across the circuit to the left of post 5 - near the toilets on the map. This is part of the circuit improvements to allow additional spectator access to the outside of the circuit from School all the way round to the gates between Rocket Out (8) and Peel (9).

Wow... My wife and kids will be happy!

How is it manned, and is it open in between session when full circuit in use or just when nation only is in use?

Ummmm Just thought, can no longer pop down the bank and have a pee overlooking Holyhead <oops I said that out loud>

To the best of my knowledge it's gone forever - we're certainly not using it for cars any more & I don't think bikes have ever used it.

Oh thank God for that! Its the most miserable little plinth of concrete that used to float in an island of mud and water on a (often) rainy day. Necessary at one time but thankfully never to be revisited!

For the Irish Touring Cars when the Coastal circuit was in use last month the crossing was opened up just at the lunch break. I think the long term manning arrangements for it is something to be worked out but the idea is to make more of the circuit available for spectators. Probably means the stretch from Church to School is the safest for the scenic pee - oh eck said that out loud as well!!

This is slightly off topic but still on the camping theme..........

I am doing the July 2nd/3rd weekend and plan to camp at the circuit for the first time. I need to be able to keep some medicines refrigerated but accessible at all times. If anyone could help or know of a solution then that really would be appreciated. Failing that it will have to be the dreaded Travelodge!

Mark, my old fridge resides in the old med centre. It might be possible to arrange for them to be kept there, or failing that maybe the staff can look after it in the kitchen?

Mark, as Steve has said, that should not be a problem. We can always arrange access for you during the day.
